Description

The Meinl tunable Mini Wood bongos are a uniquely fun instrument and gift idea for anyone interested in rhythm. Measuring 3.25" and 4" wide, the miniature sizes of the drums make this a perfect grab and go instrument for jam sessions or drum circles. The rubber wood shells are joined by the patented Meinl Free Ride system, requiring no extra holes to be drilled in the shells. This increases the resonance of the drums. Four tuning lugs are located on each drum and are tunable with the provided wrench. True skin buffalo heads deliver classic bongo sounds. Simply place the mini bongos in your lap between your knees and start playing!

A great set of bongos, perfect for the play I'm using them in. My only complaint is that the connector piece between the two drums is plastic, but otherwise, very well made with real skins, wood and metal and a great little sound.

The sound isn't very good, but then again it's probably because they are tiny. I was hoping my 1 year old who plays everything would be able to use them but in reality an empty mixing bowl is still better than this. If you're wanting them for an adult for a fun little lap piece to hit on, it'll be better and perhaps a 4 star product. It's made well, there's just very little sound output. ... show more

As a non-professional player and college student, I must say they are pretty dam good. Sound loud even though they are small. The best part of them is how portable they are. They fit anywhere and they are not a pain in the ass to carry around, thats the reason i give them 5 stars.

This little drum is light years ahead of the equivalent LP version, which is more like a toy. The Free Ride System is no joke. Basically the drums are attached by the metal hardware at the bottom rings as opposed to the traditional block of wood and screws. This greatly incgreat, highreases the resonance. Separate from that, the quality of the hardware and the finish of the drum shells themselves is impressive, far surpassing that of the LP version. This is very tiny. Definitely great for a toddler or young child but not for a young adult or adult at all because the hands will be too big to touch or play this instrument. Quality is great but not the right size for us.
