We ordered a pack then came back and ordered 2 more packs! We recently opened an indoor gellyball sports arena and there was a section in our building didn't have any lightning. The other section had drop ceiling mounted retro-fitted LED strips. These lights were SUPER easy to install, my YouTube-Graduated Electrician of a husband installed the first pack in less than an hour. Like others said, the holes in the case allow light to shine out in a distracting manner. Both the knockouts on each end, but also other holes on the top show light bleed on the ceiling when surface mounted. But, I put these in my laundry room, so I don't really care that much. Regardless, there is NO WAY these are 7000 lumen. I have a different style 4 ft long shop light in my workshop that are also 5000k and are rated as 5000 lumen and they are clearly brighter than these. I do like the way that these surface mount to a basic ceiling fixture, and they suit my needs just fine. ... show more

Using these lights in the carport and they are great. They throw off a lot of light, which is what I wanted. I bought a set of 4 and all of them arrived in perfect working order. I would have given 5 stars if the knockouts at each end were not so obvious, especially when the lights are turned on. I appreciate that they have included hardware both for flush mounting and for suspended mounting. I'm using these to replace old flush-mounted fluorescent fixtures. I have a suspended ceiling in my shop. There are no junction boxes above the ceiling - the wires have simply been run through the attic and come out through holes in the false ceiling. However, it was easy to mount the fluorescent fixtures securely simply by screwing them to the joists (16"OC) above the ceiling using punch-outs in the light case. These fixtures, however, do not allow that option. They include a mounting bracket that one can use for a flush mount -- but that's only useful 1) IF you have a junction box and 2) IF that junction box happens to dead center where you want the light to be positioned. I suppose I could drill out holes where I want them, but that's complicated by the fact that the "ballasts" (? not sure what they're called in LED lights) are mounted in the center track of the light, but off to one end (see photo). Therefore I can't drill two holes 32" apart in the center of the fixture to use as mounting holes. The existing holes are not for mounting, nor are they spaced apart in multiples of 16". I'm not a professional, so maybe I'm the only guy who doesn't have junction boxes installed in his ceiling. But if you don't either, I would suggest you think twice before ordering these. (And no, I don't want them suspended). At this point it's too much trouble to return these and look for a different model (primarily because my shop is too dark and I can't inspect the "innards" of the lights online), so I think I'm going to try to mount strips of plywood to the joists and attach the fixtures to the plywood. No verdict on brightness since I haven't installed them yet. ... show more

Prepunched holes don't line up with normal joist spacing. Have to drill new holes to mount to joists. Assorted cables and brackets included with no indication of usage, placement, or potential installation. Ends of fixtures do not allow easy end-to-end installation.

I am quite pleased with the amount of light these fixtures provide. Installation was easy enough. They are lightweight, having no ballast. The only complaint I have as that the whole unit is garbage when the LEDs burn out. There is no way to replace anything like an LED "bulb" array. This is planned obsolescence and that is why I dropped one star. As expensive as these are, the had better last a good few years. Time will tell, but they give more light than the double bulb fluorescent fixture and bulbs they replaced. I recommend them with reservations in that the fixture becomes junk if/when the LEDs burn out. ... show more
