I'm an audiophile from the 70's and this system has the important technical features you want at a very budget-friendly price. The sound is clean and crisp with no discernable amplifier noise or hum. Looks and sound great for the price. I did rebalance the tonearm to 2.0 grams using a digital scale (it was set to about 3.8 grams). The dial indicator numbers on the counter balance are not correct and you cannot adjust it to the correct reading based on how it's designed, so just adjust it to the correct tracking force and ignore the numbers. The original 3.8 gm. setting is not dangerously high, but a lighter setting will increase the life of the cartridge and your records.

If you’ve made up your mind, congratulations: The very fact that you have one in your home will make you just a little bit cooler. Buying a turntable signifies that you care about your music. That a song means more to you to than just background noise while you’re washing the dishes. Let the debates rage on as to whether the sound quality of vinyl can truly trump that of digital files. Every physical record bought puts more money back into the pocket of the artist than pressing play on any app, and that helps keep the music alive in a very real way. Having said that, you’re going to want that turntable to sound as impressive as possible given your budget — unless you really are just buying it for cool points. That’s where things get tricky. For great sound out of the box, this turntable comes with everything you need. The speakers have some impressive low end, and you can even connect them to your smartphone with Bluetooth capability. The wood accents give it just enough of a retro edge. Modern features like Bluetooth capability and vinyl-to-MP3 conversion underscore the vintage wood aesthetic. Rock-solid construction like a solid aluminum platter, dust cover, and adjustable counterweight adds to the impressive spec sheet. edit: Turns out this isn't designed to play 7" records. Original: When playing a single, the general wobble of the arm back and forth triggers the limit switch to say the record is done playing, before the record is done playing. I believe this plays as accurate a representation of the vinyl as you can get at this price point. I bought it for the stylus assembly, and it really delivers. Edit: Mine had this as a defect, the seller took care of me. Original: You have to turn it on, then off, then on again to actually enable the turntable. The first time you switch it on (after not using it for a while) i guess it goes into bluetooth mode, and no button pushes or anything will enable the turntable - the red light never comes on. you have to power cycle it to turn on the turntable part. edit: As the seller has worked with me, i can recommend buying this at this price, with the caveat that it isn't perfect for playing 7" singles. Seller recommended M405 or M619 models for 7" singles.

This is a great 45 RPM record adapter. It can be used both right side up and upside down. I use it upside down on my Victrola record player with great results. It is a great upgrade from the plastic adapter that came with my record player.

Turntable speed not calibrated right. I set it up and put on the record and music was warbled. Turntable would speed up and then drag so I replaced the belt with the spare one provided. After replacing the belt the record played too fast, not quit sounding like the Chipmunks but too fast non the less. The sound quality isn't that good either. You would think for $190 that that wouldn't or shouldn't be an issue. Save your money!
