I am a beginner and when I ordered I knew NOTHING about embroidery I just saw this seemed like a great deal with pretty thread. I told my friend, who is very talented at her embroidery business and she laughed at me and said.. BE CAREFUL, NEVER buy no name thread! you will regret it.... yeah yeah, so what I thought, how different could it really be? When it came, i was annoyed that the #s were not on the rolls themselves but the sticky tape that you have to remove to use the roll, but that is something that can be solved by writing it down, photograph, or a sharpie on the inside. I wish there was a good hot pink and a pretty light purple instead of 2 of basically the same color dark purples. The first time I used it (i chose the medium pink color) I was halfway thru a project and it somehow got stuck underneath the plate and then actually had to be cut out of the machine (including cutting the onisie and ruining it :( ) I am told this is called Birdnesting?? I took the machine apart (I have a Brother SE400) and tried again...AGAIN it happened... cleaned up... 3rd, 4th, and 5th time ALL HAPPENED!!!! I was so frustrated and in tears....I grabbed a roll I got locally by Coats & Clark and had no trouble. Since working with that "terrible pink" that tore up so many of my shirts, I have gotten better and did some research...found out I was doing some things incorrectly with my threading and changing thread process. Today I had to use the pink again and I was almost sick to my stomach with worry to try...but I did and it went fine. I have had no other problems with any of the other handfuls of colors I have tried. I don't know if it was a coincidence or what with the fact it happened so many times with the same roll each time. I have no problems finding the start of the roll...it is on the very bottom and easily comes up; I've had no issues with it breaking or seeming like it is fraying or already frayed off the roll as I read some people complained about. So on those aspects I find the thread to be great! I can say you definitely get what you pay for in threads...i used a purple from this lot on a shirt mixed with the Coats & Clark brand and I have to admit, you CAN tell a difference. It is weird b/c the thread is pretty, bright, shiney, but when on the shirt, side by side, you can tell a difference (if you look hard enough).. I would suggest if you are new and are just playing around, or making things for fun, this is a great deal to try on your machine...if you sell items this might not be the type of thread you want to invest in; just my personal thoughts. UPDATE: Ok, I was having tons and tons of problems out of the blue, I blamed the thread, the stabilizer, the machine, lol...everything! I changed the needle and bobbins 100 times (ok, maybe more like 5) and same problem....thread breaking, birdnesting, cutting my shirts out of the machine....I finally ordered different needles and VIOLA! That was the cause! Now I am able to use ANY thread in my machine without any problems!! I was buying needles locally and found they were TERRIBLE! So, for now, I have changed from 3 stars to 4 stars and I am using this thread in most of my orders if I need a color I do not have in another brand and I have had ZERO problems since. :) ... show more

    • BEAUTIFUL VIBRANT COLOR PALETTE! DOES NOT BREAK! END PRODUCT LOOKS FANTASTIC!
I bought already three sets over the years as I was running out of colors. We use it a lot for all kinds of school projects and for the girls club projects and for fun and for arts and crafts charity events and found raisers. We go through a tone of them a year. I love the colors. Not only how it looks on the product but also if you set up it neatly in your sewing studio room, it looks so beautiful, like a rainbow. It is an art piece in its own right! It does not break but make sure you always keep your bobbin neat, the machine cleaned in all places where threads can collect. I absolutely LOVE IT! When I bought my embroidery machine I purchased the 40 spools of Polyester thread to go along with it. I have made many patches, pillows and embroidered on a pair of jeans with wonderful results. You get enough thread on each spool to do many projects, and there is even enough if you make many mistakes! :) The colors of this thread are so vibrant and satiny, it holds up well when washing. On a few spools it is really hard to find the end of the thread, if you look really hard under a bright light, you will see one tiny thread going the wrong way, take a straight pin, or seam ripper and gently pull the thread loose. When you are done sewing, put the end of the thread under the number sticker. If you are having problems with thread bunching or breaking check the thread tension and re-thread the machine. It really is a good strong thread. I have noticed that on really hot/humid days the thread acts strange, to remedy that I put it further away from my machine and turn the fan on. I am not sure why this happens, but it remedied the problem. This is my honest review of this product, I did not get paid for the review. I just want people to have honest reviews when purchasing a product for the first time, just as I want to read honest reviews when I am purchasing products for the first time.
