Love the catio! Our last cat perished via 2 coyotes, so a catio is now required. Our new full grown cat is size small only 7.5 lbs, but I think it is suitable for one in a medium size. I'm a 69 y.o. female and put this together in 3 hours with a helper. The packed carton weighed 60 lbs, so the unpacking was done the day before. Packing was efficient and secure. The instructions aren't bad and the drawings are pretty good, but here are some pointers. I used an electric drill with drill bits (a tiny bit to make some pilot holes) and Philips head screw bits (a medium and a small size). All parts were lined up in order around the work ares. All hardware bags were lined up in order on a small table. Step 3: Parts 2, 3 and 4 (walls) have an inside 'lip' to support the floor. Be sure to position the 'lip' at the bottom of the 3 walls. The shelf will be positioned correctly, too. Step 5: The ends of Parts 6 tend to split when the casters are screwed in place. Either pre-drill small pilot holes or maybe put the caster plates on at a slight angle instead of squaring them up. Between Steps 7 and 8: If not already completed, review Step 1 and, if necessary, bolt Parts 10 (shelf supports) to Part 14. Step 11: For the small house, Position Parts 7 and 11 so that the screw holes are at the bottom and screw them to the shelf. Step 12: For Part 9 (the small house roof), there are screw holes in the roof, but none on the tops of the walls, which shouldn't pose a problem. Step 14: Advice for applying Hardware Parts K (4 latch sets). For working comfort, lay the two hutches on their back walls with the hinged doors facing upwards. For me, the door positions did not change, but work gently since the doors aren't well supported when pressing down on them. Position each latch pair and mark all latch screw holes with a pencil. Pre-drill pilot holes with a tiny drill bit. Then screw on latches. Step 15: Use the leftover metal spacer from Hardware Part J with Part 22 (sisal ball) to make a more secure attachment. First thread the ball's rope up through the shelf hole. Then thread the rope through the spacer and tie a knot. ... show more

  • Awesome Cat House and great customer service
My cat loves it, and so do I. It is so spacious, so bug i can fit an automatic litter box on the bottom half and the top fits a large cat bed. Worth the money, it came a little damaged on the roof part, who ever handled the shipping did not take care of the box and it came opened on one side. I spoke to their customer service and they were super nice and gave me a credit for it. Definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • 10/10 Our Cats Are Obsessed with It
The media could not be loaded. Really worth the price if you are looking for a sturdy, easy to assemble cat (or other small critter that jumps) enclosure. The item shipped quickly and arrived on time and the wood platforms smell absolutely amazing. I was kind of expecting a paint smell, but the nice wood smell was a pleasant surprise and it even drew my cats over to investigate immediately. The instructions are easy to follow and you are provided with enough screws (+1 extra of each) to build it. See video for a tip on how to install the door locks- instructions were not super informative for just this portion of the installation process. I definitely recommend having a second person to help assemble as you will have to flip the bottom half over once it is built to put the wheels on and also to lift the top portion & roof into position so it can be screwed together. Overall, it was very simple, just make sure to pay attention to what direction the panels will face before screwing things together. The wheels seem effective despite the weight of the enclosure once fully built; I am not particularly strong, but I am able to lift up the sides on my own to run our cover’s straps under the wheels to secure it when storing as well. We put this on our apartment patio and the wheels haven’t had any issue rolling across the wood panels either direction. Unsure how the wheels would move over dirt or less even surfaces, but I will edit to add if this ever comes up for us. The doors also swing wide open, so if you need to clean the inside, it would be super easy. Overall, my cats love it and it sits perfectly in front of our patio door. I included pictures to show how we decorated it and how we set it up for anyone looking for a cat hack for rentals without sliding doors (just make sure you get a screen kit to keep bugs out and highly recommend a cover for when the weather outside is bad if not being stored inside). ... show more
