I should start off by saying I’m no expert here but I play bass and do so daily for my own enjoyment. I’ll share my observations though! Strings are stupid expensive these days so a set at this price is hard to refuse. I set these up on my Squire because the sound I’m getting out of my Hoffner right now can’t be beat so I dare not touch it! These Shineana strings are sounding bright. It could be because they’re new and not yet worn in but I suspect that hexcore makes for a brighter sound in general? I’m anxious to hear what they sound like after they settle in and if the tone changes over time and by how much. In the end, someone’s own preference for sound and tone will probably be the deciding factor on whether or not they like these strings but they are packaged well, color coded for those needing a bit of assistance and a huge bargain. If you’re not demanding an exact and certain type of tone from your strings I’d absolutely suggest grabbing a set of these. And if you are specifically looking for a brighter sound I would also suggest giving these a try. For the price? I’d say just about anyone would do themselves a favor by grabbing a set and having them on standby, especially since their packaged airtight and should store just fine.

No complaints. These sound like any entry level string you might try. New, they have a nice brightness, which is enhanced by the hex core. They feel smooth like they should, and if you don't leave them all covered in finger grease and sweat, they should last longer. Their main advantage is that they cost a little less!

Bass strings last a long time. If they were any cheaper, manufacturers would go out of business. As is, bass strings are generally quite expensive for that very reason. This brand, at least for now, is priced very well for beginners and budget-minded bassists. The strings are pretty much middle of the spectrum in brightness and action. Not super bright and not super light. I really can't complain about the sound, nor feel on the fretboard. I've used more expensive sets that didn't sound any better, so for the most part, these are worthy of checking out in my opinion. Can't currently beat the price. My one and only concern is how well they hold up to humid environments, sweaty hands, etc. The better I keep these wiped down after each use, the longer they should last. Seeing these are budget strings, it only makes sense to be more attentive than usual. If these begin to rust out of nowhere, I'll come back to this review and update it. So far though, they're fine.

These strings are surprisingly good quality for the price! Installed on my Ray4 and so far they sound great. They deliver a bright and crisp tone with plenty of sustain. They seem to sound and play as well as my usual brand. Best budget bass strings I've tried so far. Good value for the cost.
