I am THRILLED with the quality of this item. I have a king-size premium (expensive) mattress that is way too firm for me. I purchased a different foam topper from BB&B that was over $200 but never gave me comfortable sleep. I always woke up stiff. For a long time I just figured that was the best I could do. I finally decided to try a different brand of topper before cutting my losses and getting a whole new mattress. I've had this Sealy topper for a week and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. My back is no longer sore when I wake up. It is not too mushy or too hard. For me it's a GAME CHANGER. I am sleeping better and waking up refreshed. That being said, I think everyone has different preferences in mattresses, so I wouldn't expect it to be perfect for everyone. I'm 5'7,160 pounds and my wife (who also loves it) is of similar stature and for us I can't imagine a more comfortable bed. This was the best money I've spent in a long time. I can't discern if the cooling feature is different than what I'm used to or not. It's definitely not too hot, and MAYBE it's cooler than what I'm used too? I think the laws of thermodynamics limit how much ANY bedding material can make you feel cooler. Oh and the smell that all the reviews mention...yes it smells weird bad out of the box. I let it air out in a separate room for two days and then still smelled through the covers when I layed down. It is finally dissipated and not a problem anymore. I think that the temporary annoyance of a strange smell is a price worth paying for the comfort that this provides. ... show more

We had bought 2 XL Twin adjustable beds with Medium comfort “Tempur-Pedic” Mattresses. They were, in our experience, too firm. We were told by the furniture company we bought them from that they would get more pliable and after 2 months, they still were uncomfortably to firm. So I decided to purchase a memory foam topper for my mattress first to try it out. I chose the “Sealy Memory FoamTopper” with a cover. It was the perfect choice. I bought the another one for my husband. Super comfortable! I left his to air out for 24+ hours because it does have a strong industrial oder. It had no more oder after that and it’s super comfy. It still gets hot during the night even though this has the chill gel. But overall, it’s quite comfortable and at a good price. There is a chemical smell when you first open it but it disappears after a few days.

There was NO smell at all for the Queen size. I was prepared to air it out for 2 -7 days, but there was no need at all. It did not smell like anything. This was something I was on the fence about and made me hedge on buying it, because I do not have the time or space to air it out. I am so happy it doesn't smell at all. It arrived in a medium sized box, curled up, I removed it, placed it on my bed, it expanded, I placed the white cover on it and slept on it. There was ZERO smell at all. In terms of comfort, it is firmer than other mattress covers I have used in the past, but it is soft and not hard. I feel like my quality of sleep greatly increased. My mattress is getting older but I didn’t want to replace it yet. My friend recommended I get a memory foam topper, so I looked into different brands. I decided to get this one because I’ve always had good experiences with sealy. I’m so happy I purchased this one! I have neck/back pain, and this topper has improved my sleep quality and I wake up feeling refreshed now. My back doesn’t hurt as bad and it feels like sleeping on a cloud. I’m a side sleeper, and the firmness is in the middle. Not too firm and not too fluffy. This is my first mattress topper and memory foam product I’ve owned. I’m pretty sure most of the reviews here were written when the topper first arrived and never edited afterwards. It’s thick. The cooling works ok and it’s definitely squishy. Unfortunately it becomes more and more squishy week after week. We are about 100 days in and we are about to throw ours in the trash. Neither my wife or I have slept well in weeks. I wake up sore from head to toe and she tosses and turns all night trying to get comfy on this god awful topper. Usually I can work some humor into my reviews. But I’m too tired for my brain to function properly…. I’m actually laying in the bed right now thinking about how uncomfortable it is as I should be sleeping at 2am. Please heed this warning. Don’t buy this awful topper unless you want to replace it every 2 months. ... show more

The chunk of memory foam is heavyweight and comfortable. I am very disappointed in the “down alternative” pad supplied, it is thin and has no loft, feels barely filled will polyester floss and the cotton fabric is very thin although sewn well. I did try to fluff it in my clothes dryer before placing it over the memory foam but it remained deflated in appearance and feel. The pockets are generous, I have a 12” mattress and there was no problem with fit. The memory foam did not slide around on the mattress underneath during the night. ... show more
