We were looking for seeded glass shades to upgrade our kitchen fan to match the other new fans we recently purchased. This fan is collar locked but the shades look as though they can also be used in a screw locked application. Measure carefully to be sure the shades will work in your application. The shades were well packaged and even though the packaging indicated some shock damage the shades were perfect. We do know that seeded glass is generally more expensive than clear or frosted. The sleek, modern design adds instant updating to an old fan. The clear glass allows more light to pass through compared to the old frosted ones which is what I was looking for. However, the inside styrofoam packaging gave way during transit and chipped the rim of one of the lights.

The first purchase I made came with 4 shades and one came broken. After a long back and forth with Amazon, they sent me a new 4 pack for free.. and it came with another broken one. Good thing I didnt have to return the original one because I would have still been missing a lamp shade. Moral of the story, both orders came with a broken shade. Also the edge of the lamp shade looks pretty raw cut, not a big deal since you won’t be touching it often but it’s not pleasant to deal with. ... show more

It proved very difficult to find modern looking shades to update my vanity fixtures. These were really the only ones I found that fit, and fortunately, they look beautiful. There are two issues with replacement shades that face down and need to be screwed in to the fixture itself: 1) they are for the smaller fitting fixture (1.65 v these @ ~2.25); and 2) most do not have a "lip" that is necessary to fit above the screws and hold the fixture in place. I searched for adapters to solve either of these issues and came up empty handed. ... show more

These shades arrived well packaged. However, the glass itself is very poor quality. I ordered 2 sets (8 total shades), and every shade had very noticeable surface scratches all around and rough edges. Several also had bubbles in the glass. They might work ok on a light fixture that is very high, where the flaws would be less visible. But for my dining room and kitchen island lights, they were very noticeable. ... show more
