The material is a light weight plastic, shiny material that was quite wrinkled from being folded when they arrived. After steaming to get the wrinkles out, they looked better and hung more evenly. There are quarter sized round magnets (which are quite strong) sewn into the edges of the cover that makes it easy to attach the frame around office lighting. In the photos only 1 or 2 of the fluorescent bulbs are on but you can see they give off a greenish-purplish hue and definitely filter the light. The darker color covers would be better for light blocking then the lighter covers. ... show more

I bought these for my classroom/ lab after purchasing the clouds from the same seller. They are magnetic and super simple to put up. Getting the wrinkles out was a bit difficult. I resorted to an iron on very low before hanging. My K-5 students think they are super cool and think I should put them on all my lights. They really help reduce the fluorescent glare, creating a great lighting atmosphere. I had to contact the company for documentation on the fire specifics for the fire marshal. Nice idea. If all I wanted was pretty pictures they would be okay, though they should be an inch larger all the way around. They barely reach the edges of the light and it really needs to reach the edges of the frame so it doesn’t stay up as well as it should. Also it barely blocks the light and I really wanted to dim the lights in my office as I am not able to remove the bulbs over my desk area.
