Easy to use! No pumping or ratcheting needed. Extend and close. Best feature is the release, press a button done! I've bought about 6 load lock bars from other manufactures. All crap! They were all not the easiest to use, some with holding brackets, too heavy to handle. This bar will be the only bar you will ever need. I've bought 1 bar for the price they offer for 4. I couldn't believe it, I thought it was too good to be true. I had to order it 3 times to get it but I was issued credit on the 2 shipments. First was undelivable? Which I couldn't believe, everything comes to my home? 2nd time the order was cancelled for a similar reason? So I had it delivered to my business where things seem to come broken or stolen but I felt if it didn't come to a comercial district in NYC, then so be it. 3 rd time was a charm. I was starting to think it was too good to be true that price for 4 load bars? But they arrived and I'm happy they did. I use 2 and have 2 spares. Let's see how long they last. These load bars are perfect. These bars are made from what feels like very heavy duty steel tubing, the ratchet mechanism appears to be some sort of stamped magnesium. These are being used to keep beverages from falling over in the back of my vending box truck. All you do is spread the bar out to the sides of the truck and lock the handle down. Got these for my enclosed cargo trailer as we are moving households this year. These are nice heavy duty load bars and would work well in large trucks. Alas, I should have measured because they were too long for my trailer. No matter. At one end, I removed the “foot” that is held by a bolt and lock nut. I then cut off about 12 inches with my reciprocating saw. Then I drilled a hole and reinstalled the foot. They now work great and it only took me about 20 minutes to retrofit the four load locks for my smaller trailer. Good heavy hardware and the price is really a value for what you get. Purchased my first enclosed trailer, started loading it and discovered if you cannot tie your load down to the rings in the floor with ratchet straps you need some type of adjustable restraint to keep it all from shifting while traveling. These cargo bars are great for the job. I originally thought I needed 1 or 2 but getting the 4 pack worked out great. Much more versatile with odd shaped items and multiple items . They are a bit awkward to use at first and a second person helps tremendously. I’ve only had them a short time but they seem to be built well and should hold up for a long time. ... show more
