I made a system to exhaust my hot computer air through my window. I tried using an old pc fan on the window and sealed around with cardboard, and using a dryer duct from my computer to the window fan. I bought this fan and its lightweight, runs very smooth, very quiet on low modes which is already more air speed than the pc fan. All in all it seems like a great fan for the price. Moves a pretty considerable volume of air at full power and isn't very loud. My one complaint is something you should consider if you're wanting to go the cheap route (with this unit) for something like an attic blower : the power cord and control module are are integrated. There's no clean way to pass the control module into a room in your house without cutting a big hole in the top plate and wall because the control box will require it to pass through. Your only work around, which I'm going to attempt, is to splice in a longer run of wire with push pin connectors that I fish through a smaller hole or outlet cover. Keep in mind, this unit was clearly not made for this, and you can buy a pricier model that has a remote in which case this wouldn't be an issue. But it would be really easy for them to add a plug to couple the controller with the power cord so you can pass the wire through a small hole, and then connect the controller head and power. ... show more

Just got mine and it turns off on its own every few minutes. I check, it's supposed to be on. I turn it off and on a few times to make it turn on. Then it shuts off after a couple of minutes. Not gonna return it. Just throwing it in the trash where it belongs. WASTE OF MONEY
