Horrible quality. I have weighed 180-200lbs while owning this for 1 year. My husband weighs 150lbs. The metal bars are squeaky as hell after the first month of use, and some of the bars bent, which damaged our mattress and voided our warranty. Do not buy this unless you and your partner weigh 100lbs each!

I LOVE my bed & I am PICKY about how it looks when made (Queen). I'm short 5'1", late 60's. I have struggled for 5+ years since getting a new mattress which are now ridiculously (seriously, ridiculously!) thick... mine is 17" (nutty). With my original, regular 9" box spring & 17" mattress on top of the bed slats (rails/slats at lowest level), it's like mountain climbing every night, no lie. I had a small step stool (really? to climb into bed?). With stool & grabbing bedding from other side of bed it was a journey nightly. I snapped. I Googled my bed height dilemma and found there are thinner box spring options. Eureka! My local mattress store wanted $250 for a 5" box spring. This product (4") had great reviews all the way around, including building it. I didn't want to build completely before I knew it would work for me. I laid out the 4 main pieces (no screws), gently slid giant mattress on it, and I fell in love... got to work screwing all sides together STUPID EASY!!! with tools provided, very little cursing, and under an hour later my bed dilemma has been cured. I cannot believe I didn't do this 4-1/2 years ago! Buy it! You will not be disappointed. It is extremely solid, all metal. Let's face it, it sits under your heavy mattress. It's not going anywhere, ever. $99 WORTH IT!! (And, I never write reviews, I am not being paid for this review!).

The box spring was easy to put together and looked nice after it was set up. It probably took me about 20 minutes because I had one of the pieces flipped upside down (I must have seen a squirrel and was clearly distracted at the time). The picture/directions are easy to follow and accurate if you use them as intended...lesson learned. It's basically a metal frame that has a fitted cover that you put on after the frame is assembled. The underside doesn't have a cover, but instead has 4 elastic straps holding the top and side portions in place. We paired it with an Amazon Basics bedframe and it fits snuggly like it should. It feels sturdier than the box spring we purchased from Ashley Furniture for a different bed. I would have preferred a solid covering for the bottom, too, but overall it's nicer than most box springs you'll find.

Overall I’d give it 4.5 stars but for the annoying issue noted below it’ll average out to about 3. Easy enough to put together but do need some space to do so. Cover a little tight but that’s what you expect. Seems sturdy as I’ve had it a few months now. My only real gripe are the slats. If you have to tip the box spring on its side much there’s a good chance several slats are going to fall out. It’s very annoying moving it and having to readjust multiple slats each time especially since the cover is on it. I’m switching bed frames currently and my box spring is leaned up against a dresser. I have multiple slats I’ll have to put back in place when we get the new frame together.
