This is a replacement for my HF 4 gallon manual pump backpack sprayer. This unit is a functional battery powered backpack sprayer that is easy to use with a pump that can get a horizontal water stream 22.5 feet from the wand tip. The wand is telescoping and with a number of different wand tips to meet your needs. The mist wand tip had been partially crushed but it did not affect fit or function. I am happy that the small amount of unused product when the pump stops is typically less than 8 ounces and you can get down to 2 ounces when you tip the tank towards the pump intake. The pump quickly activates when it senses you pressing the wand trigger. I find the straps to be slightly narrow for the weight of a fully loaded sprayer. I was able to get 2 hours 35 minutes of continuous pump run time from a new fully charged battery in my test setup in my shop. I was also able to measure 70psi at the end of the wand. I ran 10 full tanks through and did not experience any leakage. I have mixed thoughts on adding a new battery/charger to my cordless ecosystem. I do not have any experience with this old Makita 12v battery standard but it appears that this unit's battery and charger requires a barrel connector that is not standard on the Makita batteries. It appears that if you want to add other Makita batteries to your ecosystem, you will also need to add a new Makita charger because the new batteries can not connect to this unit's charger. Also this unit's battery socket does not have a receiver for the locking tabs on the battery. It appears that the door to the battery compartment presses the battery into the socket which makes the replacement battery dimensions critical. This unit is not as economical as you first thought if you want to add batteries and chargers to your already existing battery ecosystem. My recommendation is limited to if this unit as delivered meets your needs.
