This is a solidly built rod. You can feel the quality when using it. I would rate the sensitivity as good on the 3X and would imagine the 6X would be much better, although I have not used a 6X. It is somewhat different than other rods in terms of the tip action. I have a medium rod with fast tip, but I find it to be stiffer than other rods with the same setup. “Crisp” would be a good word to describe the feel. The reel seat is as good as it gets - solid in all respects. The guides are top notch, and the rod casts very well. These rods are built to last a lifetime and are a good investment if you’re looking for a top-end rod but don’t want to break the bank.

Very very light and made with extremely close tolerances and high quality components. Yes they are expensive but there are a lot more expensive rods out there that doesn’t feel as good. You can almost close your eyes and tell exactly what the terrain feels like under the water. My wife doesn’t let me use it too much so I guess I’ll be ordering more for myself. Thanks TRIKA your going to cost me a fortune.

I took it trout fishing and it was perfect. Used it in small streams and the extra length was nice to do a little flip instead of casting. With the extra sensitivity I had way less gut hooks on such a sensitive fish. Then I got home switched reels and caught a bunch of large white perch outside my front door. I'm lucky to live on the water even if in a city. I'm looking into getting a medium/fast for my Christmas present. We get some nice rock and blues up in my cove around October.

I'm pretty disappointed in the Trika. I made such a big deal about finding a rod that's made in the "USA" & got my wife to let me spend the $200 for the 3X rod. The Trika arrived & I didn't notice the poor workmanship of the bottom guide, but my wife did. And she doesn't even fish. She pointed out the tiny imperfection on the rod & to my disappointment, she was correct. It's as if the guide was either bent to begin with or the alignment of the guide wasn't accurate. When you touch the guides, the bottom guide definitely feels pitted. Either way, I returned the Trika, it's been a 7 days & I have yet to see my refund. It's been13 days & I got my refund. Trika sent me a message that stated guides are glued "at an angle to lessen tangles & there's no defect with the rod I received." That may be true if all guides are glued aligned & angled identically, but this one was not. The bottom guide on this rod was glued misaligned with the rest of the guides. The pitch was visibly different as was the angle from the rest of the guides. Their standard of workmanship seems questionable to me at best. 1 star removed for message sent to me from Trika telling me I sent back a perfect rod which I did not, I sent back a rod with a cosmetic defect! I should have taken more pictures instead of just the 2 of the bottom guide to show what I'm talking about.
