The 3M™ Littmann® Master Cardiology™ Stethoscope features tunable diaphragm technology—a 3M invention—that lets clinicians hear different frequency sounds by simply adjusting the pressure on the chestpiece. Unlike two sided models, there’s no need to turn over and reposition the chestpiece. Hold the chestpiece with light pressure to hear low frequency sounds; press a little more to hear higher frequency sounds. This time saving feature allows the healthcare provider to focus on the patient, while the non chill rim provides patient comfort.Headset tension is easily adjusted for head size and comfort by squeezing together or pulling apart the eartubes. Snap tight, soft sealing eartips conform to individual ears for an excellent acoustic seal and comfortable fit. Eartips snap firmly onto the ends of the eartubes and, for safety, require a significant effort to remove.Resilient next generation tubing retains its shape and flexibility even after folding tightly into a pocket. It provides longer stethoscope life due to improved resistance to skin oils and alcohol, and is less likely to pick up stains. Next generation tubing is not made with natural rubber latex, a benefit to sensitive medical professionals and their patients. Let me start by saying this is the first review I am writing for any product. I just had to write this one! Firstly, I must commend amazon for their excellent delivery service, my package took just about 11 days to be delivered to Nigeria and all along, I was able to conveniently (and accurately) track it. At almost $200, it's an expensive stethoscope I must admit. At $321 (including shipping), it's the most expensive piece of medical equipment I own. The littmann master cardiology stethoscope is GORGEOUS! It has a polished stainless steel chest piece and an overall attractive design. I initially wanted the burgundy colour but it it wouldn't ship to my location so I had to settle for the black one which is still beautiful. For someone used to low quality stethoscopes, even the feel of the master cardiology is different. It screams quality and class. It's also considerably lightweight (I actually looked at the delivery guy like "are you sure there's master cardiology in here?") When I put it in my ears for the first time, and listened to my own heartbeat (over my clothes!), I couldn't believe my ears... the acoustic performance is just excellent. It has an adapter for pediatric auscultation and a single sided chest piece which allows one to listen to both high and low pitched sounds simply by applying pressure on the chest piece. As a young anaesthetist who'd be dealing with both adult and pediatric patients, I couldn't ask for more. It has got soft sealing ear tips that fit perfectly and cancel out ambient noise. In short, when you're looking for a high performance stethoscope which is worth every penny, look no further than littmann master cardiology. Excellent craftsmanship, littmann! ... show more

I have used several different brands of stethoscopes. Littmann stethoscopes are a good product but the cardiology stethoscope allows you to listen to fine sounds. It is a heavier stethoscope compared to some of the others. I feel it was money well spent especially since I was lucky enough to get it during the Black Friday Deals. ... show more

I have slowly been progressing up the Littman Stethoscope line and my last scope before this was a Cardiology III. I misplaced it and needed a replacement and while I loved the old gal, decided to upgrade to this design. I was wary at first given the tunable design but I figured that if it didn't work as advertised, I could simply give it away and pick up something different. However, I've been blown away by this stethoscope since I got it. I found my Cardiology III before this one arrived and from doing side by side comparisons, the Master Cardiology is a definite improvement over it. I can hear heart and lung sounds better and the tunable design works. What's even more awesome is that I actually use it as opposed to the old design where I only turned over the stethoscope in rare instances. My only regret right now with regard to this stethoscope is that I did not pick up the black edition. Highly recommended. ... show more

The stethoscope is nice and easy to use. The tubing was sticky and stiff. Indicating that this is really old and not a new stethoscope. The best bet is to buy spare parent for the diaphragm and ears. If the tubing is in bad shape the sound is of a lower quality and not worth buying used stethoscope. This product new is amazing but what I got not. It was almost like someone swapped out parts from another stethoscope and returned the rest so they had a brand new one and the remaining parts were resold as new. That would explain why the box was closed with shipping tape and a shipping label only. ... show more
