This is the 4th Littman I've bought in 32 years. The last one several years ago had an issue with the tubing getting sticky with cleaning. I do not know if this one will have the same problem yet. I haven't read anywhere where this is happening with the Cardiology IV, so I'm hopeful it won't. First of all, I do not hear well. I have an auditory processing disorder plus I can't hear 5 sounds in one ear. I struggle with sound. The Cardiology IV provides the best sound I've ever experienced from a stethoscope in my 33 years of being a nurse. It is a quality instrument in every way. I love the 2 sizes of diaphragm on it. I work in L&D, so it helps with listening to adults as well as babies all in one device. The ear pieces are snug and comfortable. The tubing is just the right length to not be too long or too short. Also, because I do appreciate aesthetics as well as quality, It's absolutely beautiful as well as perfectly functional. I do not have any negatives except possibly the price, but it is worth $200+ to me. I also appreciate that I was able to use my FSA card to purchase and exclude that amount from my taxable income. 🙂 ... show more

The quality is excellent. My only gripe was that its noticeably heavy if you carry it around your neck all day and that its very short but that could be by design.
