  • Hypoallergenic, not strong on sweat/water, long term leaves stubborn black residue
Size: 4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I'm allergic to adhesive, but this works well for me. Works MUCH better than the Nexcare products. I can leave it on for a week in areas that don't move a lot without a reaction. Note that wearing it for this long does leave a black sticky residue that is a bit stubborn to remove. In areas that do move a lot (e.g. fingers), it only lasts a day or two, tops. In terms of water resistance, it's pretty good, but not "proof" by any means. If a corner has started to curl or roll up, the water is just going to get underneath and exacerbate the curl. In high sweat areas, like the palm or side of the hand, forget about it. It's not going to stick for even an hour. It also doesn't seem to hold up well against light or heat; Having some on the back of my hand or wrist and mowing the lawn in 76 degree weather (F) caused it to lift right off my skin. This could be because of sweat, though. ... show more

  • Water resistance
Size: 4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I like this product because it is water proof and adheres well. I use it over a foam bandage because the foam bandage does not always adhere well and sometimes leaks fluid from the wound.

  • Best thing to come along since Band Aids!
Size: 4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I originally purchased Tegaderm at Walgreens to put over a medication patch that could not be covered, but, had to be worn for 3 days and was constantly starting to come off by the end of day 2. My doctor told me about Tegaderm . Walgreens sold the product in both name brand and generic, however both were very high in price so I decided to see if I could find it on Amazon. Unlike Walgreens, I found this marvelous big roll, and then ... I started finding all sorts of different uses for Tegaderm . My household now uses Tegaderm dressing for so many things, and this roll size is the best! As Tegaderm is breathable, yet waterproof, it is the perfect wound care product. It can be put over gauze to keep a dressing dry and clean for up to 3 days (maybe more but that is the longest I have personally left any on myself) without damaging your skin one bit. It can be put directly over minor cuts and scrapes with a little antibiotic cream on the actual wound to keep the sticky part from catching on the sensitive area while it heals. The transparent covering allows you see as the skin heals, letting you know when it is time to remove or change the bandage. It can be put on tattoos to keep them dry while still allowing them to breath. It's perfect for that pesky papercut that just need a day or two to heal. When you can't find a bandaid to either fit the awkward place needed, or .... you can't get a bandaid to stay. Perfect for covering up stitches too, just put some antibiotic ointment and gauze over the stitched up area and cover with Tegaderm and shower, swim ... get as wet as you want! I recently had an allergic reaction to Poison Ivy on the front of my leg and made a salve using baking soda, honey, and Extra Virgin Olive oil. I was able to apply a liberal coat to the entire rash on my lower leg and cover it all with Tegaderm overnight! The relief I experienced he next morning was absolutely wonderful. My oldest daughter was waiting tables when she got a tattoo on her wrist and used it to protect her tattoo from germs and spills in the kitchen area, she just applied a liberal amount of tattoo salve on the tattoo and placed the Tegaderm directly on top. ***** Be sure to clean the skin surrounding area that needs to be covered, wound, burn, tattoo, medical patch, stitches, etc ... with rubbing alcohol. Insure that any wound has protection from the Tegaderm, such as a gauze cover, or a liberal amount of ointment or lotion so that when it is time to remove the Tegaderm it does not pull or tug at anything that might hurt or cause injury. Peel of backing of off and place flat against the skin. Apply moderate pressure for approx 30 seconds with your hand. The Tegaderm will bond best when it gets warm. If you do these things properly, when you take the top pieces off, the Tegaderm will be so ***** ... show more

  • It's wonderful to find a tape of which I'm not allergic
Size: 4 Inch (Pack of 1)
I have an allergy to adhesives because latex and even acrylic are being used more and more in bandages and medical tapes. (Note for those who are also allergic to acrylic: I bought an athletic tape which was labeled NO LATEX. Upon applying the tape to my shoulder, I broke out in blisters in less than a minute. We removed the tape and treated the severe rash and blisters. I searched all over that box to find the ingredients in the adhesive. In very small print, I found that they used acrylic in the adhesive.) I knew I am not allergic to the Tegaderm patches used to hold an IV in place, and always wished I could obtain it as a tape to create my own bandages. Too my delight, one of the sellers on Amazon carried Tegaderm by the roll. I am able to cut off whatever size I need. When I first received it and was trying to bandage one of my elderly mother's scrapes, it was trial and error to figure out how to separate the actual tape from the white backing and then the clear plastic. Here's the trick: ~~With the clear side with the wavy white tabs facing you, look at the edge of the tape. You will see about 2mm or 1/8 inch from the edge that there is a separation between the white backing and the clear plastic. A slight rub will separate the two. ~~Next, without overlapping it, apply the sticky side of the clear plastic in place. Using the little white tabs, pull the clear plastic off. This will leave the Tegaderm tape in place. ~~Smooth it gently onto your skin to seal all edges of the Tegaderm. You will now have a transparent, watertight bandage. In my opinion, Tegaderm is the safest tape created to date by 3M or any other company especially for those of us with sensitive skin. It is also a strong, reliable tape. Update: February 20, 2020 I just purchased my 3rd roll of Tegaderm 4 inch wide by 11 yards long. I have found many uses for this tape which include taping torn boxes and replacing sports tape (which has adhesives I'm allergic to) with this strong, clear, thin, flexible tape. ... show more
