Description

3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 is a one-component, high-strength, moisture- curing, gap-filling polyurethane for permanent bonding of wood, gelcoat and fiberglass. It cures to form a firm, rubbery, waterproof seal on joints and boat hardware, above and below the waterline. 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 offers permanent adhesion to wood, gelcoat and fiberglass. In addition, our marine adhesive sealant is flexible and allows for structural movement and dissipation of stress that may be caused by vibration, swelling, shrinking or shock.

Value for money isn’t that great because you are basically having to pay an arm and leg for this stuff but I wouldn’t use any other product on my boat. I have a pool, when it was built I do not know. Occasionally the border tiles fall off (the adhesive that was used to initially install them gets old and fails.) When this happens, I clean the tiles and scrape as much of the old mastic off the pool wall as I can. 3M 5200 may be the best product on the market for sealing boats. If the product doesn’t come undamaged you can’t use it. The product doesn’t come with an applicator tip you can’t use it. What’s wrong with Amazon in their shipping? You shipped me a product which was damaged and unusable AND NO APPLICATOR TIP! wasting my time not only can I not get my project done on time I have to get in the car and drive to the UPS store to return your product. Why did you send it to me a damaged tube in the first place with no tip, is this a joke. Maybe one of your fancy robots did it but if an employee did it, maybe they should be retrained! Thank you. Sincerely, for wasting my time. I only hope that the replacement is in usable condition with an applicator tip. ... show more

This sealant stopped a leak around the skimmer basket of my pool over a year ago. I recently bought more to seal a leaking seam on an aluminum patio cover and it has worked well. Most products don't last in the Texas sun. This marine sealant has worked well for my uses.

Great deal when you buy the 10 oz tube. Cures slowly (days/weeks, not minutes/hours), so plan to use this in conjunction with clamps, screws/nails/thru bolts, or even another fast-curing adhesive to hold everything in place while this cures. Once this cures, it's not coming apart.
