Description

3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 is a one-component, high-strength, moisture- curing, gap-filling polyurethane for permanent bonding of wood, gelcoat and fiberglass. It cures to form a firm, rubbery, waterproof seal on joints and boat hardware, above and below the waterline. 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 offers permanent adhesion to wood, gelcoat and fiberglass. In addition, our marine adhesive sealant is flexible and allows for structural movement and dissipation of stress that may be caused by vibration, swelling, shrinking or shock.

I worked for years in the boat business, and this is a "can't live without it" kind of product. It sets up and cures underwater and is immediately waterproof. 3M 5200 may be the best product on the market for sealing boats. If the product doesn’t come undamaged you can’t use it. The product doesn’t come with an applicator tip you can’t use it. What’s wrong with Amazon in their shipping? You shipped me a product which was damaged and unusable AND NO APPLICATOR TIP! wasting my time not only can I not get my project done on time I have to get in the car and drive to the UPS store to return your product. Why did you send it to me a damaged tube in the first place with no tip, is this a joke. Maybe one of your fancy robots did it but if an employee did it, maybe they should be retrained! Thank you. Sincerely, for wasting my time. I only hope that the replacement is in usable condition with an applicator tip. ... show more

This product was used to help repair a very old cement statue that sits in a fountain and has a tube running through it to the top of the head to create a nice bubbling and trickling effect. After days or rain, the ground gave way under the heavy fountain and the little girl fell over, breaking the neck. The tube held the head and rest of the body together, but a large amount of cement around the neck crumbled. We applied this as a filler around the head and neck after using a cement adhesive to glue the head back onto the neck and shoulders. In a few days, all was dry, and it rained again--but this sealant held. Being waterproof is a necessity for a fountain statue and cracked fountain bowls. ... show more

Top quality product that comes out like cake frosting. It’s thick and sticks to everything. Value for money isn’t that great because you are basically having to pay an arm and leg for this stuff but I wouldn’t use any other product on my boat. The performance so far has been great above and below water. If you are using it on a older boat that use to be white be aware that it will stand out like a sore thumb Bc it dries white and stays like that. Always a good product, but the first order came without a nozzle. Hard to use the product without a nozzle so it delayed my project by 2 days. My second order did come with a nozzle so I had to go through the trouble of returning my first order.

This product was recommended to me for use as a glue for brackets on the roof of a van that would hold a solar panel. This stuff is GREAT! A little messy to use but dries to the touch within a few hours and was completely cured within the timeframe stated on the label. It has not degraded at all on the roof of the RV which is constantly in harsh sun and rain and NOT garaged. I would not hesitate at all to use this as a glue for almost any application where a secure bond is required. You will definitely need to allow it the proper time to cure prior to use.
