Good price and video quality. The dvr system is easy to use and was hassle free to set up. However both cameras that were mounted outdoors have stopped working. They were both mounted outdoors, not in direct sunlight and both were underneath a roof so neither of them were in direct weather. I like the system enough that I'm debating just replacing the 2 broken cameras instead of getting a new system. The interior cameras still work perfectly. Great system for the price. Ran the included category cables to locations, NVR is POE and powers the cameras and set up is super easy. Great night vision and good 8mp quality. Has the availability of sound and to speak through the system. Easy to connect the system to a television via HDMI. The online version is easy to use and to add additional users. Easy setting up, easily installing cameras using convenient extra addon POE switches. Both direction audio support worked well (NVR default N1 protocol doesn't support audio, changed to ONVIF or RTSP), fairly easy to use UI. CON - hard drive running very hot, almost unbearable to touch (strange, weird manufacturer label, but diagnostics performed on it revealed to be Hitachi disk drive). I replaced it with same capacity SSD, heat issue resolved as well as reducing power consumed. - Frame rate limited to max 15fps but are of good quality, night time auto switch performance very good and definitely having great distance coverage. ... show more

This is another one of those products I wonder how anyone could give it a 5 or even 4 star rating. It does provide basic real time video surveillance, however, many important features are missing. Backup takes a long time and does not work anyway. The .avi files are not readable by commonly available software (Moviemaker for instance). Therefore you cannot make copies of videos of recorded activity. And since you cannot make copies you cannot make still image hard copies. There is no capability to make still pictures (screenshot). The manual states that you can but I could not find a way to do it. There is no capability to zoom in on an image. You cannot set pre and post record times for motion detection. There is no reverse playback capability. Reviewing recorded activity is facilitated if you can view the video in reverse. There is no skip ahead or skip back capability when reviewing recorded activity. There is an annoying beep from the NVR and you can't turn it off. The quality of the mouse provided is poor. You cannot link camera recording so as to turn on other cameras when one is activated. The user manuals are terrible. They are incomplete and written in really bad chinglish. The information from the website is mostly in Chinese and not very useful. There is no capability for privacy screening of sections of the camera images. If you locate a camera with a partial view of your neighbors back yard you will probably have an upset neighbor if they notice it. Motion detection range is a maximum of approximately fifty feet and the motion detection does not work consistently. The Lan numbers on the input are not consistent with the channel numbers, For instance, Lan2 input is channel four. The software appears to have alarm recording activation but there are no alarm inputs on the NVR. ... show more

This security camera system was bought as a replacement for a 3 year old system that I was continually having problems with. I like the features and ease of set-up on this system. The cameras seem to be of good quality & have built in mics and speakers which allow you to hear and talk through any camera. The best feature are built in infrared spot lights that can allow you to view night time color video if you choose. The phone app is also easy to set up by simply scanning a QR code.
