This incubator had a defective thermostat. It was set for 99.5, however was alarming at 102. When I checked the temperature with a different thermometer, it read 107.5 degrees. I lost all of the chicken eggs I placed for hatching. I would not recommend this product.

I like how the styrofoam that protected the device in the box can double as a thermal box that can stay on it while you are using it to reduce the power consumption and keep the temperature steady. The styrofoam allows you to peek through the lid, operate the buttons, use the candle feature, open the lid, and even open the water tray to add water without having to remove the device. Very smart!

So I really wanted to love this incubator. The pros are the candler is nice and bright compared to other incubators, the 18 egg capacity is great which was the main reason I got. It was a great price point for the capacity. The digital display does not have a backlight on it unless you press a button to “wake it up”, which is helpful when your candling cause any other light other than the candle makes it incredibly hard to see your developing eggs. The big con for me what the temperature and humidity which is the biggest deal. The humidity is extremely unstable on this thing. The little vent doesn’t do anything to lower the humidity. I have to roll up a thick piece of duct tape to essentially crack the door open to let some humidity escape to make it in the range in needs to be. Also the temp has never gotten to 100° which is where I need it. It’s always stuck at 99.8 even when the door isn’t “cracked” open. Not sure if it’s the larger space that makes it hard to manage but I can certainly tell that the hatch rate would go down drastically if you’re not watching it like a hawk. I have two other incubators that are much better at staying consistent with the temp and humidity to where is not constantly stressing about it. Hope they fix these issues cause it could be a great incubator.

Temperature gage does not work. And we are currently to far in to stop using as I am afraid the eggs if they even hatch will survive. If they dont over heat first. You can see from my picture

The media could not be loaded. Works great and a good hatch rate! Temp remained stable and so did humidity. Going to buy a 2nd since it worked so well. Very easy to use.
