  • Beautiful lens!
I chose this store after comparing online for a long time. The lens is very textured and small and exquisite. This product exceeded my expectations! Not only is the quality high, but it is also fully functional. I have not found any defects so far, and it is very cost-effective.

  • Excellent Quality
The media could not be loaded. I love this lens! Nopw granted, I am an amateur still. But, I love how much better this lens is then the kit lens. I love working in manual mode and this is perfect for that.

  • Rich, gorgeous colors, but also image softness gives a certain personality to this lens
I enjoy using budget manual lenses, so I took the chance to try out the Brightin Star 35mm F1.2 even though there were no reviews available, in hopes of finding a new gem. While the lens has its particular qualities, especially with the background blur and rich colors, the softness of the image quality keeps this from being my new favorite budget lens. The lens is weighty feeling for its size, signifying the all metal build. The focus and aperture rings are nicely damped, though a bit scratchy out of the box. The aperture ring is declicked, which is good for those shooting video. The primary reason you get a fast lens like this is to blur out the background (bokeh), and this lens certainly does a good job of this, with soft creamy bokeh in garden shots that bring out the main subject. The colors are rich and vibrant, and this is one of the primary strengths of this lens. I've included multiple images taken with the lens as samples. Unfortunately, the lens also exhibits softness in the image quality when you look more closely, especially with high contrast lines. There is some fringing that limits the resolving power and causes fine details to get lost. You can see this in some of the indoor close-up photos I've included. This can give subjects a "dreamy" feel, which some might appreciate. But a clinically sharp lens this is not. And that's one of the things with cheap manual lenses: they have personality, and part of the fun is learning the personality of the lens and seeing what kind of shots it works well, while understanding that it will have limitations that make it not work so well with other shots. So hopefully this review gives you a sense of what the "personality" of this lens is like, and help you in deciding whether to add it to your kit. ... show more

  • Overall fantastic! But chromatic aberration...
Size: Fit for Nikon Z Mount *: 35mm F0.95 Black
I really love the texture, feeling, material of this solidly built lens. Really love the feeling of manually adjusting the parameters. The huge aperture, nice, great, I love the depth of field. However, the chromatic aberration of this lens does make me annoyed. Considering its price, I am still giving it a 5-star, but for now I will only use it for B&W mode. I will leave some sample images for your reference. ... show more

  • Such a fun lense
Size: Fit for Micro 4/3 Mount *: 35mm F0.95 Black
The rare f stop allows for heavy natural bokeh. Perfect for taking dramatic shots of people. There is no zoom but limitations can increase creativity. I have a lot of fun with this lens.

  • absolutely CRAZY and loving it!
Size: Fit for Fuji XF Mount *: 35mm F0.95 Black
This lens is unbelievable! Back in the late '60's the first camera I bought was a fixed lens Canon rangefinder that I sold it to buy a used Leica 3F. That Leica was a disaster... I couldn't even load the film successfully. I finally sold it and bought a used Nikon F that was my only camera through art school and it was reliable and almost bullet proof. Over many decades I used many different camera formats through my years of photography- products, portraits and travel- and currently use only Fujifilm X-Pro and XT. When I saw the Brighten Star 35mm f/0.95 lens for $200 I was expecting it to be a piece of cr*p but I was too curious not to order one... and wasn't I surprised! It is a solid, well designed, well machined lens that has the functional attributes of the $13,295.00 Leica 50mm f/0.95 minus the Aspherical Element ( 35mm ASPC is the equivalent of 50mm 35MM). ... show more

  • Decent for the price...
Size: Fit for Fuji XF Mount *: 35mm F0.95 Black
It is a decent lens for the price, it just wasn't great for me. I am used to manually focusing lenses on my film camera, but using this with my Fujifilm, I just really struggled to nail focus. Almost every one of my images were slightly soft. This is possibly more to do with the camera's way of seeing what is in focus. In the end, I decided to return this. ... show more

  • Did not work with Nikon Zf
Size: Fit for Nikon Z Mount *: 35mm F1.2 Black
Nice solid lens, it does not feel cheap. I purchased the lens for my Nikon Zf. I put it on my camera but it seems it is not made for full frame cameras. It creates a black halo so there’s always a black outer circle. I also don’t like that my camera can’t read the F stop. There’s a lot of guessing involved when trying to take a nice picture. Also, removing the lens from the camera is not an easy feat. It’s hard to grip and there’s a lot of slipping. Unfortunately I’ll have to return this since it is basically not usable for my camera. ... show more
