I've had this slicer for a few years now and can say it is a great slicer. It is quiet, the blade is sharp, it has plenty of power, and it has handled everything I've thrown at it. I routinely shave raw venison that is slightly frozen and it preforms flawlessly. There are instances that it will throw raw meat from the blade, but I've worked in meat departments when I was young and all slicers will do this occasionally depending on what you are slicing and whether it's raw, partially frozen, or frozen. I prop up a cutting board to catch the occasional instances where this has happened.

I bought this slicer to use for slicing bacon and lunch meat. For that purpose it works great. I do have to fold a pork belly in half to get full length slices but that doesn't bother me. I often purchase a whole boneless ham when it goes on sale and can get Scotch Tape thin slices if the meat is placed in the freezer for a couple hours prior. Cleaning, well it sucks but I think that holds true for any machine like this. I do think the machine comes apart quickly with only a Phillips head screwdriver. Just be careful with the blade it is sharp and heavy. It takes a little work but you can get all the bits of food out of the nooks and crannies pretty easily. For cutting cheese I have had mixed results. Cheddar and provolone seem to slice pretty well. Colby jack was a nightmare. I question as to whether the non-stick blade would help with cheese but for the cheese I use it works great. I would buy this again but might opt for the 12" model just because I have a home cured bacon obsession. It is a heavy unit and does not slide around at all. This isn't something I drag out to make my sandwich for lunch but if you buy in bulk, slice, then vacuum seal it will serve you nicely.

My new favorite kitchen tool. I've had some of the under $100 slicers and found them to be extremely frustrating and useless. This machine works just like the deli slicers. I like my meats sliced very thin. It works great and saves me a lot of money. Some reviewers complained about the cleaning of this machine. Yes, it takes some time, but you wouldn't take this out to cut meat for today's sandwich. You use this machine to cut multiple pounds of meat at a time. When you're done, you take three parts off and clean them in the sink. Then you wipe clean the rest of the machine and put it back together. My only slight problem with it is that sometimes the meat gets caught in the blade and shoots out the other side. I set up a plastic trash bag behind it so the bits don't fly across the room. The last time I used it, it was flinging ham on about every other slice. Then I started grabbing (not catching) each slice from behind as it came out and it didn't happen much at all. This is more of a user issue than a design flaw. The best part of having this meat slicer is that I can trim my meats before slicing. I don't care for the outer crust on hams, so I cut it off first. I also rip apart roast beef and cut away as much fat as I can find. This is a heavy duty machine. At first, I thought it might be overkill for just myself and my wife. However, after about three months of using it once every two weeks or so, I'm very happy I spent a little more because now I actually use my meat slicer and save money. I rarely used my old ones because they were too much of a pain, and I was never able to get my meats sliced as thin as I like. This thing is built to last, and it runs so smooth. I love it.

This slicer is great. I slice tri tip and beef jerky. Sharp, easy to use. People say it's hard to clean, nope. 5 screws and you just wipe it down... very easy. I haven't even used the auto sharpener yet.

I’ve used it at least a dozen times since my purchase and I have no complaints. Easy to operate and disassemble to clean. They have a warranty and a website that sells every replacement part you may need. It’s set up to slice super thin but the tray is adjustable for thicker cuts. Definitely worth the investment.
