I am giving the Encarefor chair five stars because it meets my requirements for a portable chair. Note that it is not a full time, do-everything chair. I give it high marks for what it is, and I don’t fault it for what it is not. Portability is a tough feature to get, you will sacrifice every other feature for it. And insurance will only buy you one wheelchair. So after discussing this with the folks at the wheelchair office at the hospital, I struck portability from my wish list and let them get me a heavy non-portable chair that has all the other features on my wishlist. Just the simple fact of weighing 200 pounds, makes my main chair safer, better handling, and vastly more comfortable than any lightweight chair could possibly be. Then after I got the heavy full-featured chair through insurance, I bought this Encarefor chair out of pocket as a portable travel chair. It stays in the back of the car, when I am at home. When I need to go somewhere in the car, I leave the heavy chair in the garage, and when we get to our destination, the Encarefor chair comes out. Heat is the battery killer, and parked cars are hot. So I bring the battery in, at home, even though the chair stays in the car. My car is a small hatchback, but the Encarefor chair fits easily in the trunk. I do not have to fold the back seats down. My husband says it is not too hard to lift. It folds and unfolds easily, there is no awkward disassembly. Pros: - Portable. It fits in my car. It folds and unfolds easily. - The arms are long enough to provide support while climbing out, but fold up easily to get out of the way when needed. - It is an attractive chair. Strangers keep stopping me to ask where I got it. - It has a small footprint which makes it easy to take into stores and restaurants, yet the seat is still wide enough for my size 2X body. - The seat height is the same as a normal chair, so I can sit at restaurant tables in it. - The controller is decently programmed. If you set it to a high speed, it goes quickly in a straight line, but slows A LOT when you turn, which makes it much easier to not hit things as you swing around. It responds quickly when I stop, so I have not smashed my knees into anything. - Battery life seems decent so far, and the battery is easy to insert/remove. - The motor release levers are super easy to operate, which makes it easy for my husband to manage while loading and unloading it - he can set it to freewheel while he is moving it around when I am not in it, so he doesn’t have to use the controller. Cons: - The seat back leans back more than I like, which feels quite odd. - With the seat at normal chair height, and the footrest high enough to clear bumps, my (very long) legs feel cramped, but I can’t really fault that - it just means it’s not all day comfortable. - The footrest flexes a lot, I hope this is not a sign of breakage to come. - The seat cushion is thin. Another thing that is not a pro or a con, but is good to be aware of, is this: The Encarefor is a four wheel chair, with front casters. My big chair is a six wheel chair with casters both front and back. The two chairs drive wildly differently and switching between them is hard. If I got enough practice with the Encarefor chair, to get really good at precisely maneuvering it, I would probably struggle when I switched back to my main chair. I am going to preserve my house’s baseboards and my cat’s tail, by never bringing the Encarefor chair into my house. It is strictly a travel chair for me.

Lightweight, sturdy and comfortable. Not a fan of the foot rest that folds down in the middle. Would be nice if the foot rest could fold under the seat. Makes it more difficult to get in and out of. If down the patient needs to be able to spread their legs and if up it blocks the seat and still need to maneuver around it. Foot rests on both sides that fold up and swing to the side are safer.

The Encarefor electric wheelchair I purchased has been defective from day one with. dead battery. Encarefir sent a replacement battery that currently appears to not hold a charge. The chair keeps showing error codes C4 and LC which I'm assuming are charging issues for both batteries. I am an amputee and have only been able to use this chair two weeks total since it was delivered defective to begin with. please send free return shipping and refund my money this chair is defective

Well this is one of the BEST Amazon purchases I have made. I am my Father’s Primary Care Provider. I recently had to tell my Dad that he could no longer drive his cars, two Infiniti’s in different cities. My dad is a Career Decorated Military Officer but at 88 he is also a Stage IV Cancer patient. He has spent a lot of time in Hospitals which take a lot of walking. After his chemo started he has needed assistance with mobility, a Walker and Transport Chair (not self-propelled). We have stopped his Chemo, it almost killed him. He is getting cognitive back now. I felt he could manage a motorized, electric chair. I wanted one that would be light and look cool. I chose this Encarefor model. We have only had it for two days now and we took Dad to one of our favorite walks along the Chatahoochee. He Loved the freedom to be with us and stop when he wanted. It folds up and travels easily. Looks badass. Thank you Encarefor. I know he will enjoy this while he can control it and it has a manual mode for when he needs more help.

Some serious lag between the joystick and the motor. The seat is cheap. Needs memory foam. I zip tied the seat belt to the side out of the way. The instructions for the battery health is not very clear. Way heavier than it states. I also thought that the second battery would stack with the first and use at the same time not do a swap. This chair is not waterproof so cannot use in wet weather. Concerned about the back rest and finding a replacement if it wears out. For a cheap chair I think it will do what I need. Wish there was accessories for it. Will update after summer is over. I will have some miles on it after that.

Very nice power chair. Bought for elderly parent who lives in a senior care building. It is great for him to get to the dining room, to see friends, get his mail, etc.. It also maneuvers well so it will work well in the apartment if he needs to use it there. Had a charging issue at first, but the customer service was excellent and the problem resolved promptly.
