The media could not be loaded. My husband‘s tools in the garage were getting ruined because of the humidity in our garage. It has been an exceptionally hot and humid summer. In addition, some of the fabric items that we were storing were getting mold on them. It was very frustrating. We looked into getting some insulation for the garage door but decided to go ahead and try a dehumidifier to try to reduce the humidity. After a lot of research, I decided to try this dehumidifier. Before you use it, you have to leave it upright for 24 hours. I plugged it in this morning at 8:00 AM and cannot believe how much water I’ve pulled from the air today. It is actually unbelievable. The humidity has dropped from 69 to 60 and you can tell the difference in the garage. It feels cooler and definitely dryer. This was well worth the money. I wish I had bought this along time ago. Last summer, we had to clean and paint some shelves that had gotten mold from the humidity. This dehumidifier would’ve saved us a lot of time and energy over the last two years. Also, in the past, dehumidifiers put off a lot of heat. This one is quiet and only puts out a little bit of warm air. It is definitely not like the ones from 20 or 30 years ago. It comes with a tube so that you can drain it, and we may have to figure out a way to do that since it’s pulling so much from the air (we do not have a drain in the garage). I would probably have to empty it twice a day right now. Great purchase! Great value! ... show more

    • Durable but use the tube and your own bucket

I have had this running non stop for over 6 months, and it's showing no signs of exhaustion. You can use it with the water coming out of a tube or by letting it collect water in its own tank. I do not like option b, because there aren't good handles on the tank and it's awkward to pull out. If you use this with your own bucket, it works great. You just need to understand that this does NOT have a pump system - you'll need to place the entire device on an elevated surface, and have the water drop down the tube into a bucket or a drain. This wasn't clear to me when I purchased it - maybe it should have been. So because I had to elevate the dehumidifier, I had to create a table for it, and in that way it does take a lot more space than I thought it would. You can certainly use the built-in tank but I found it really really annoying to continuously remove and replace the tank correctly, such that the device would to turn back on again. If I were going to continue to use the internal tank, I wouldn't be thrilled with this product because the tank doesn't really have good indents for your fingers to grab it easily. I'm guessing that kind of feedback would encourage the designers to fix that on the next iteration. I've used other dehumidifiers in the past and the less sleek design made it much easier to get a grip of the top of the tank and pull it out and put it back in. ... show more

I have been looking for a dehumidifier for my basement for a while, and finally I bought this one which can very well meet the requirement of my basement size (~2000 sqft). It is easy to move around, easy to setup. Just turn on the power, use the hose to an external container to hold the water, and set about 8 hrs for my case so that water will not overflow. So the machine just do its work and no worry at all. it is easy to empty the container after the set hours. also there are other control options, such as set speed low or high, and humidity level target. It is easy to set, just clicking the button. It is a high quality and runs quiety and efficiently in the basement. It is worth the money with the deal. ... show more

Using in a 10x12 basement room - does the job. Small reservoir and nothing to grasp when trying to retract the bucket causes annoying spillage. Not sure if noise would be an issue if used in a living room.

***UPDATE**** Changed rating from 3 stars to 5. If you purchase I highly recommend using the included hose and drain from the back of the machine to your basement drain works perfectly fine now and no tank to mess with. I also wanna give five stars to the seller. They did reach out to inquire how the machine was operating and did offer a refund. I turned them down because it is now working the way it should. Works good, however I gave it 3 star because the tank fills quickly and getting it back in after emptying is tricky so that the machine turns back on! ... show more

Pulls a lot of water! It’s relatively quiet, looks nice and is good quality. The tank is so small. I don’t think that this is meant for a basement, I think this would be better in a small space or less damp area. I’m most likely going to sell it so I can get a better one. It fills so quickly that I can’t keep running down there to empty it so it’s ineffective because, obviously, if it’s sitting full all night, it’s not doing its job. ... show more
