Due to crime in our area, especially in the darker spots, I put up three of these in front of my house and they have kicked ass / worked all night / changed the dynamic on our block. We're in a nice area but right off a main street, so losers drive in quick, break into cars, take off. Well, now they do it at the other end of the block. Remote is ok, motion detection average (the higher you install the light, the less it works), but putting it on AUTO is the best solution for us. Having the ability to have warm white, cold white, and the hybrid light (both same time) is awesome. Was able to match the warm white of my accent lights. This solar powered light gives off plenty of lumens, just not sure that its 140,000 as advertised. Maybe 14,000??? In any case it does a nice job lighting up a 20X40 foot area. I mounted it where it gets about 5 hours of direct sunlight. We set the light up so it turns on at dusk at 30% output and then switches to 100% when it detects motion. It's only been installed for about 10 days now so I can't comment on longevity claims by the seller. The construction is solid. Would buy again. ... show more

    • Decent, but only seasonally
This review is for the 420 watt version. I've been using this light for a few months now and have a pretty fair idea of its capabilities. The problem with these lights is that they're solar, which is both good and bad. I say they're only decent seasonally because in the winter they don't get enough sunlight to stay operational all night. I have mine set to stay on for about 3 hours starting at dusk. In the summer when it gets 14 hours of sun, it can handle that easily. But in the winter when the quality of the sun exposure is lower and only lasts a few hours, by two hours it's become noticeably dimmer and doesn't quite make it to 3 hours before it's completely drained. Which just exacerbates the winter sun issue. In the summer, it turns off before draining the batteries. In the winter it never gets a chance to catch up so the batteries never fully charge. Now, I'm not saying these aren't useful. I've just learned that in the winter I need to set it to just motion sensing and not have it stay on steady for any extended period of time. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing. And it beats running electric out to the pole it's mounted to. I'd just suggest that if you need or want steady light, especially in northern areas with poor sun in the winter months, something that runs on house power would be a better option. ... show more

This 4200W solar street light is a very big, bright light that will light up whatever space you’re trying to use if for. It has quite a bit of functions that you can choose from with a long, life span. With it being all solar there is no problems with wiring. All you have to do is mount it either on a pole or on a wall of some sort and make sure the solar panel is in direct sunlight most of the day.
