I ordered this barrel to use with my Airwrap ID since my set only came with the larger and conical barrels. I specifically wanted something that would give me a slightly tighter, more defined curl, but not as tight as the conical and this does exactly that. To my surprise (and delight), it performs just as well as the name-brand version. I’ve noticed no difference in airflow, curl formation, or ease of use. It attaches securely, switches directions easily, and feels just as solid in terms of build quality. The finish and weight are very comparable to the original attachments. The curls hold beautifully and look consistent, and I appreciate not having to spend full Dyson pricing to expand my styling options. At nearly half the price, this feels like a smart buy. If you’re looking to add a 1.2" barrel to your Airwrap lineup without paying the premium, this is a great alternative.

I have been looking for some attachments to add to my Dyson Airwrap and this 1.2 inch curling barrel was the perfect choice. The attachment fit well and didn't move around once it snapped in. It felt very sturdy and well made. My hair is long and I sometimes have difficulty finding a curling iron that will curl the whole length. This one worked great. I was able to take long sections and wrap them all the way up. It created voluminous curls that lasted for the eight hours I was at work. The top of the barrel has a knob that can twist clockwise and counterclockwise so you create curls in both directions with a simple twist of the heat-protected cool tip. This is a unique feature that really makes this attachment special. It heated up in about 30 seconds and stayed hot throughout the whole time I was styling my hair. I felt like my hair looked shinier and smoother after using it too. Overall, my hair just looked healthier.

This is a really nice and pretty user friendly curling barrel. I struggle hard when it comes to curling my hair. No matter what I can’t seem to get it right or wrap it correctly. While this barrel didn’t miraculously solve my poor skills, it definitely is easier to use than others I’ve tried. As long as you have thin enough sections, the auto wrap works well and it grabs your hair easily. It’s not able to handle thick sections of hair so the process does tend to take a while. I was a little concerned when I took it out of the package and it was a very light piece of plastic, but it’s actually held up well and does what it needs to do.

I was a bit disappointed with this one. The attachment does work in terms of fitting and creating curls, but the overall material feels very plasticky and lightweight, almost like a toy. Compared to the original attachments, it doesn’t feel as sturdy or premium, which makes me worry about durability over time. The curling effect itself is just okay. It can still wrap the hair, but it doesn’t glide as smoothly and doesn’t feel as secure when in use. Because the plastic feels thin, I’m extra careful when attaching and removing it, which takes away from the convenience that these kinds of tools are supposed to have.
