I’m very impressed with the 900 CFM suction—it easily handles heavy oil and steam, which is perfect for my kitchen. The gesture control is a fantastic feature; it’s so handy to wave my hand to change speeds while my hands are messy. Evacuates steam and smoke very well, is a bit noisy at the highest speed, the controls are easy to operate either with hand gestures or actually touching the control pad.     • LUV it - but it chatters! IMPORTANT UPDATE: the chatter is now FIXED!!!
The install was pretty straight forward. I had to do some finagling to do it all be myself, but a pair of quick-grips did the trick! So it is all installed...I turn on the power....push the fan button...and i get a inconsistent "chatter" of metal. I believe it is due to the buttterfly damper kinda flailing about. Other than the fan, the damper is the only other moving part - but it is enclosed within the unit and the exhaust stack so there is no way to verify that doesn't involve completely un-installing the unit. Other than that - it looks quite sharp, the suction power and fan noise are good (not excellent), and the lighting is exactly what was needed! All-in-all, a good value buy! UPDATE! The chatter is fixed!! The "chatter" was NOT the damper! It was the grease grates!! I was on the verge of uninstalling the whole thing...and I just happened to reach down for a tool, and from the corner of my eye I could see the right grease grate jiggling up and down - just enough to make the "chatter" noise. I removed the grate and ever so slightly bent the back edge by a tiny smudgeon - a very long smooth arc sp that the back corners would 'wedge' a bit against the top frame. I put the grate back in - and no more chattering !!! Took the left grate out and repeated the ever so slight bend just to be sure. Put everything back together and tested on all three speeds - and not one time did it chatter anymore. YIPPEE!!! ... show more

    • Misses smoke from front burners, some installation impracticalities

Giving three stars because this seems to be a really great value and an overall good product. But from my point of view, it has one major flaw (it seems to share with flaw with other under-cabinet hoods of its type). Heavy smoke from the front burners will absolutely bypass this hood, rendering it very ineffective in these situations. Heavy smoke from backburners would likely get picked up very well, but the high heat burners on ranges are almost always in front. The reason is that there is probably 2-3 inches at the front of the range where the lights are, creating a very significant offset from the front burners. I think this is just a major design flaw, any way you look at it. Surely lights could be integrated without stealing the whole front of the hood. Another thing worth mentioning is that the range comes fitted with a very short duct stub that also seems seems undersized for a six inch round duct. You cannot screw into it, because you would obstruct the damper and prevent it from opening. All you can really do is try to work your way around with aluminum foil and then trust it holds. Not sure why other reviews don't make mention of these issues. Just be aware, heavy smoke from your front burners may very well not be picked up by this unit. Otherwise, it feels like a quality product, and it's not egregiously loud. ... show more

    • Outstanding customer service follow up
Initially gave a 2 star review for the reasons listed below. However, I am now changing to a 5 star because of the outstanding customer service i received after leaving the original feedback. Following the initial review, EVERKITCH reached out to ask if there was anything they could to help resolve the issue or if a replacement was needed. This was the first time i remember feedback not falling on deaf ears and a company actually reaching out to provide assistance. A replacement range hood was delivered at no additional cost to me. Thank you to EVERKITCH for standing by their customers and providing proactive customer service. -Original review- The screws that connect the fan blade to the hood are too short and after a year of use, several worked themselves loose causing fan blade to dislodge and grind against hood. Had to open hood, remove fan blade and reconnect screws. Longer screws or a better connection method is needed to avoid similar occurrences long-term ... show more
