  • Pretty generic, good bit size selection and (current) price
Color: Blue
You can find dozens if not hundreds of this particular drill/engraver pen on Amazon, so this isn't anything special in that regard. The drill bits are pretty good and work very well on polystyrene (PS) and ABS plastics, easily cutting through even when just spun by hand outside of any holder at all. The saws, when tested by cutting model sprues, weren't very good. They got caught often (even on the thin identifier tabs) and tended to melt rather than cut the plastic (and yes, I tried flipping them as they aren't marked). Slightly annoying that there are no extra washers included for the saw holder, as they are quite small and easy to lose. The drill isn't quiet, per se, but even at it's highest setting it isn't really loud either. All bits are held in by two grub screws rather than a proper collet, which means it relies on the hole being exactly the right size and perfectly round to keep the bits centered. No issues on my particular unit in that regard, though one of the grub screws is inevitably loose after I've drilled a hole. Would I recommend this? Short answer: depends. I have exclusively only used this for PS and ABS plastics, replacing my pin vice, for which it works rather well. It has basically no torque or reverse, so every time the bit gets stuck it will stop, which I do run into if I'm not careful. At the price it was/is at time of purchase and review (~$20 after coupon), if someone doesn't want to spend double that for an objectively better drill pen or even more for a rotary tool setup, and is using it for thinner plastics, absolutely. ... show more

  • Nice Hand Drill
Color: Blue
Like any handheld drill getting the initial hole started is a bit of a challenge. The powered drill bit will tend to wander which, if not very careful, may mar the finished item. A small indent will prevent that problem for the most part. The power of the drill is good. I do hate the how the drill bits are changed and the only reason for the -1 Star. I am going to DYI (3D print) a mini drill press and this will be perfect. Once the bit is mounted this is a really nice drill. Note: if your needs require always changing drill bits I don't think I would get this drill, because of the bit changing process. I am always using the same size bit and am not changing until the bit gets dull. ... show more

  • Pretty slick!
Color: Blue
The media could not be loaded. I got this mini-drill for my resin projects. Sometimes you need a small hole for jewelry or something. This works pretty slick. Once I figured out there were screws on BOTH sides that needed to be loosened before I insert the drill bit, things went pretty quickly. The drill makes a nice clean hole. There is a simple push button to start the drill and the drill can be recharged with the included USB cable. I love the blue color. It's pretty! I'm docking this a star for two reasons. 1. The two little screws can be kind of fiddly and annoying to mess with to get the bit inserted correctly. I wish there were an easier way to change bits. And 2. I wish this came with better packaging. The drill came in a box with the bits in a tiny ziplock baggie. It would be nice to have an actual case so things don't get lost. Overall, I am quite satisfied and I'm happy to add this to my crafter's collection! ... show more

  • Perfect addition to a hobbyist's tool chest
Color: Blue
I ordered this micro drill/saw tool for my efforts in electronics and pcb boards in particular. A few months back I needed to drill a couple of wire holes on a pcb board I was modifying. My smallest bit in the garage was too big, so I used a small pick I had to make the hole. It didn't look so good, but what can you do? Anyhow, I tested drilling holes on a pcb board with this drill and it was just what I needed. The saw blades are a nice bonus and I tested it to cut out a section of a plastic project case I need for an Arduino clock with an LCD display. The clock system is not finished, but the LCD display looks great in the project box. Soon I won't have to use my phone to check the time, I'll have my own separate clock. Ok, it's still fun building it even if it's not truly needed. My clock will be using the atomic clock radio signal, which has some interesting challenges. There is an instruction sheet for the drill, but the Amazon page shows you how to use it as well and the box depicts how to get the bit wrench out the back end. The drill has 3 speeds and turns off like many fans where you run through the speeds before you get to off. It uses USB-C to charge and you need your own wall plug or PC with a powered USB port to charge it. Nevertheless, this little tool is a great addition on my work bench and I wish I had it years ago. ... show more

  • Exactly what I was wanting.
Color: Blue
I do a ton of 3D printing and I have been needing a good small drill with small bits for cleaning out the holes in various parts I print, prior to inserting inset threads. Up to now, I have been using an old Dremel tool, but it really isn't suited for this purpose and finding the proper sized bits has been an issue. This little drill is the perfect size, includes the size bits I need, and has speeds slow enough to (hopefully) not melt the plastic while drilling it out. It is also nice that it has the built in storage slot for the Allen wrench. Basically, this is exactly what I have been needing and I am super happy to have it. My only minor complaint is that, while it is USB-C, as usual, it is not wired properly internally to allow it to work with an actual USB-C PD smart charger. You pretty much HAVE to use it with the USB-A to USB-C cable that it comes with (or one similar). As all it takes is adding two 5.1K resistors to enable 5V output on a USB-C charger, I really don't understand why they don't do it. That being said, I really like this little drill and am going to use the heck out of it! ... show more

  • Sturdier than expected
Color: Blue
This is an impressive little handle tool. I was shocked with how small yet durable, sturdy, and strong it was. It charges very easily comes with all the tools it needs to switch between bits and things. It's an all in one for on the go or even just small detailed work! Honestly loving this more and using more than my other rotary tool. Only issue is you have to pull out the Allen key tool on the bottom to charge it and there doesn't seem to be another way of storing it. But if you don't mind this small detail it's really a great tool. Battery lasts pretty long as well! ... show more
