  • So Far, So Good!
Model: Q12-Quest 2
This is the second item I snagged for my newer Meta Quest 2 that's been on my wishlist for some time now. Even though I'm not good at it, I still play Beat Saber, but I find the standard grips a little clunky when it comes to holding them while playing. The handles are simple to attach to the Quest 2 controllers, but I haven't really figured out where the onboard strap goes while the handles are attached. There is a hole in the handle that the OG straps can feed through, but it makes for awkward gameplay. I'm guessing they're supposed to feed down inside the handles, but I'm still figuring stuff out, I guess. It's also a bit difficult to use the controller "normally" to scroll through and use the trigger buttons. That could be user error, however, and it doesn't affect my overall opinion of the handles. Even though I don't play songs with this mode, I think it's pretty awesome that the handles came with the middle piece that would turn the controllers into a double-edged saber, basically a "Darth Maul" type for DM mode. I barely have the coordination to play it in normal mode, but it's nice to know I have the option if I ever want to try DM mode. These are great for games with light sabers and similar types of weapons, but make sure you allow for about twelve inches of extra space around you if you use them. It's really easy to misjudge the distance you don't have while using them, and those controllers are really fragile if you smash 'em against a wall or something else hard and unforgiving. If you're a Beat Saber nut like me, give these a try. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Much better design than previous quest 2 "long arms"
Model: Q12-Quest 2
My son is an avid Gorilla "tagger" and we’ve gone through our share of controller grips. I was confident in our last pairuntil one day, one of the controllers ended up on the other side of the room. The thin plastic had fatigued over time or from repeated impacts. That’s where these grips are clearly an improvement. The previous design used a thinner plastic that curved snugly around the controller. While that made them slightly less bulky, the difference was barely noticeable. These new grips, on the other hand, use a much thicker plastic, possibly 5mm or more, which locks the controller securely into place. I immediately felt the difference in sturdiness. One feature I especially appreciate is the quick release mechanism. A button on each side lets you remove the grips easily, much better than the bulky velcro strips on the last design, which were awkward to install and disrupted the otherwise sleek profile. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the feel and durability of these grips. The only minor issue was fitting the controller straps through the bottom. If the base were hollowed out to allow the strap to pass through, it might make installation easier, though I can see how that might compromise strength. For the price, these are a fantastic value, and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone with a Gorilla Tag enthusiast in the house. ... show more

  • Nice Quest 2 Extension, but Read this for Hints
Model: Q12-Quest 2
I have a Quest 2, so I got the Q12 (Quest 2 only) version. They are very nice for games where you need them. They feel really good in my hands, but it does take some practice to get used to them. The only problem I had was dealing with the wrist straps on the original controllers. I could see that they were supposed to slide down into the hole inside the extension handle. But mine didn't go down all the way, so they got bunched up into the close fitting part and interfered with putting the extension on (too much pushing pressure required and I was afraid something would break). But I found a perfect solution: I folded the handle strap into thirds and tied that with a small wire wrap tie to hold it in place (I suppose I could have used tape instead). That works very well. The folded straps slide down into the extension hole easily, and then I can snap the extension onto the clip with reasonable pressure. Everything feels solid and tight. (Note: In the pictures, ignore the green tape. I have 2 sets of controllers and that is how I can easily tell them apart!) ... show more

  • More Immersion
Model: Q13-Quest 2/3
How to connect the Quest 3 adapter to the controller was a bit confusing at first, but that was the only negative experience about this, and its really nitpicking. This transformed beat saber, and I can't wait to try the Vader series again. Definitely a positive experience. *Edit* After more time on it, I have found it does hamper the ability to have precision movement. If you're holding it by the hilt, there is a slight delay due to the controller end being extended further out. This does make it more challenging as you get to harder levels or play something that needs precise timing like Beat Saber. I still think it has value by simply extending the controller handle, so even though you can't hold it by the full hilt, it does make the controller itself easier to hold on to, but you're still holding the controller. No stars deducted for this because it's just physics, not really anything to do with the product being defective. ... show more

  • Great handles
Model: Q11-Quest 3
Good quality sticks and they securely hold my controllers in place. I really like that it was easy to put together, though the controller parts do require a little jiggling to get seated just right. Once locked in though, I feel very confident that they are not going anywhere at all. I am not sure that I would ever need the connecter for both sides, unless I was maybe playing a kayaking game or something, but the extension is nice to simulate a golf club for certain games, which is primarily why I got these. Of course they work well for beat saber and the like too, though thats more the other members of my household style of game. Overall, very well built, fit perfectly, and definitely help elevate your gaming experience. ... show more
