I have a lot of uses for sprayers on my farm and have several of various sizes. In recent years I have replaced them with the battery operated ones. It makes a huge difference, both in how long it takes to get the job done, and the ease with which you can do it (there is also less cursing involved). The four gallons is a great size for a backpack sprayer for those of us who are not related to Andre the Giant. It is also a very popular size. As I have gotten older, I am using smaller and smaller sprayers. A good attribute of the sprayer is that it is quite light - around 4 lbs, so filled it is still going to be about 35 lbs or thereabouts. This is fine for most people, but a little beyond what my back can take, so I used it half filled. A little less convenient that way, but still functional. I think that for most houses, this will be a perfect size that you don't have to re-fill to get the small jobs done. I don't know how durable it is; we will have to wait to find out. (The old hand pump ones lasted me 15-20 years, but required minor repairs with generic parts that were readily available. I would give them away, and get a new one just for a change. With the new ones, there is always a concern about needing batteries, and they are not generic).

Battery doesn't charge

This sprayer is a powerful, well made workhorse! First picture, we filled the sprayer with water and the second and third pictures show where the charged battery is snapped into place. The fourth and fifth pictures show the water spray. We’re in a drought right now and live on a dirt road, so at this time my husband only used water in the sprayer to wash the dust off our newly planted pecan, guava, and avocado trees. In January the sprayer will come in very handy for fertilizing fruit trees and our winter garden (we live in Florida). The battery charges fast and a charge lasts about three hours…more than enough time for our needs. There are two choices for spray. On 1, the spray is good for ground work and bushes and on 2, the spray is more powerful for heights (last picture). This sprayer is very well made, durable, and should last for many years. My husband said it’s top notch and deserved 5 stars.
