Quite shocked at how expensive this desk looks at this price! It is very sturdy and seems incredibly well-made, the wood also has slight texture and looks like real wood not cheap MDF. It gave my office that executive feel I was looking for! It took my husband three hours to put together, but that’s just because he’s a perfectionist so he takes his time. The reviews overall were not great. After assembling the desk understand why. Instructions are good, but not great. You have to study the pictures and ensure all parts are correctly orientated. The metal framing portion instructions are weak. This is not for someone who has difficulty assembling anything or is a 1st timer. I found everything to align well. For a cost of $150 including shipping, it's a fair value. It takes a bit of time to put together but instructions are clear. While the directions state a drill is needed we found the included tools a better option as particle board can easily crack especially using a power tool. The photos have been edited so know there are two seams that are not visible in these photos but are very noticeable on the front edge where the three top pieces meet. I wish they wouldn't have edited those out for the photos as that changes the look a bit but for the price we were ok with it. Time will tell how it holds up. It's sturdy so I'm not worried about that but the finish seems like it could easily chip based on some chipping we had on the underside. We do love the modern clean look and for a college kid we are happy. ... show more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this desk was one of the most disappointing furniture purchases I’ve made. The only positive thing I can say is that it arrived quickly. Unfortunately, during assembly, the screws/nails provided by the manufacturer were too long. Following the instructions exactly as written resulted in the fasteners pushing through the top surface of the desk in 12 separate locations, permanently damaging the desktop. The photos speak for themselves. Not only is this a cosmetic issue, but it is also a safety issue. The wood splintered around several of the areas where the fasteners came through, and my husband actually cut his finger on one of the exposed spots during assembly. Even if the top had not been destroyed, the overall design quality is poor. There are visible fasteners and exposed hardware in multiple locations underneath the desk, making it look cheap and poorly engineered. For a desk costing approximately $170, I expected far better quality control and a design that wouldn’t self-destruct during assembly. A customer should not have to guess which screws are safe to use or risk ruining the product by following the manufacturer’s instructions. If assembling the desk according to the provided directions causes the desktop to be punctured in a dozen places, then there is a serious design or manufacturing defect. I cannot recommend this product. It is poorly designed, damaged during normal assembly, and created a safety hazard in my home. Save yourself the frustration and purchase a different desk from a different company. Great desk for the price. Follow the instructions and it will go great. Figure this to be a 2 hr. project to assemble if you have a coffee in the middle. The color tabs do not match. if the exposed screws on the side bother you plan to by a wood filler to match. Do not try to outguess the directions you will be taking something apart and then re-assembling. Keep it supported while putting it together it is thin particle board and could break easily, however it is designed well and assembled it will be plenty strong for everyday use. ... show more
