Definitely not of Fort Knox quality security, but that what you get for the price you pay for. Though lightly, it does provide some protection to your valuables. I wouldn't count on it to not be broken into quite easily. The door's thickness, which seems to be about the same as its walls, is only about 10/64 THS. It almost felt like I was just picking up a box on tin can when I lifted it. No, I'm not a big muscular guy! I'm only 138 lbs.! It was packaged nicely. I was a little confused by the instructions provided on the manual on how to set my own combination at first, but upon reading it again, it turned out to be pretty easy to setup. If you are looking for light security for your documents, this does the job. If you are looking for a more robust protection, I would conduct more comparisons with other brands. ... show more

Pros: Very affordable and large. It has removable shelves. I liked the three different options of opening (2 keys, make your own code, and an extra external battery pack). I like the security measures of it not working for a few minutes if a wrong code is entered. I am not so sure that it is fireproof or waterproof, but as extra precaution we bought separate waterproof bags and fireproof bags. One 8 x 13 fireproof/waterproof bag and a larger fireproof/waterproof briefcase to put the smaller waterproof bags in (hey, can't be too safe! we like the extra layers of protection). We like that you can screw it to your wall so no one can walk away with it. The screws are very big and substantial which is great. I suggest screwing it to a stud instead of using the anchors. The turn knob/latch seems sturdy. I bought a previous well-known brand and the latch seemed sketchy as if it may break. Cons: The metal sides and back seem thin (like someone might be able to drill through it or cut it opened if they worked at it) but screwing it to the wall should help with that. People can't just walk away with it if it is secured to the wall, and I highly doubt thieves would spend time working on it in a house they are robbing.     • Doesn’t work after 5 months
This started out as a great safe to use for small items that I wanted easy but secure access to. After using it for 5 months I can no longer get into the safe without the key. I have replaced batteries to see if that helps. I cannot recommend this safe.

Love this as our upgrade. The shelving is great. The bag that comes with it is definitely quality. Love that there is a light that turns on when you open it and the auto lock feature is amazing!
