Well designed,and sturdy product

I tested this at a local campsite. This water jug is a good campsite water source with a few design flaws that make it just a bit shy from great. Starting with the pros: -Very sturdy -Has a handle on the top and side to either carry with 2 hands, or carry in either orientation -Provides x2 velcro strips with adhesive backing to choose which side to attach the extra fabric holder thing. I put one piece on each side so I can attach it to either side -Comes with cleaning tools Cons: -The side that the jug rests on when oriented to use the spout is not flat. The jug is wobbly and can tip when using the spout. It isn't easy to fully push it over but the shakiness doesn't feel good, especially considering it's a 30 lb weight. Many, many other water jugs like this on Amazon do have a flat surface, so the fact that this doesn't is a major con versus competitors. See pics. -When oriented to use the spout and the big cap is fully tightened, the vent is turned to the low point on the big cap. When the water jug is very full the vent is not above the waterline and it will spill water everywhere. You can't unscrew the big cap either or it will send water out. So the only way to keep water flowing is to open the vent a very short time to let air in (while also spilling water everywhere) then close it again. Not a good design. See pics.

This was amazing for car camping. I washed it with some soapy water and left it open to dry a few days before our trip and we had no issues with plastic taste or smells from the container. It stayed sealed and did not leak on several multi-day camping trips. Highly recommend. We bought a pump to go with it, but we liked the spigot so much we never even hooked it up.

I need a water storage container for traveling and I knew that I couldn’t (and didn’t want to try) carry a 5 gallon container. This one is heavy enough when full but manageable. I also love the spicket that come with it.
