  • Perfect for all sorts of crafts
Size: 300g Color: White
I think the pictures speak for themselves. Let the clay dry before painting it. You can flip it over to get it to dry faster after a while but that will flatten the other side a bit. Don't dry it on a piece of wood or it will get stuck, dry it on something completely flat like plastic or glass. It's light weight, cheap, and easy to use. It's not the best if you're trying to make anything with sharp edges but other than that, useful for almost anything I can think for crafting 3D items. ... show more

  • Great, Especially for beginners!
Size: 300g Color: White
The media could not be loaded. I needed to make wands for a Harry Potter birthday party and decided to try out this foam clay! I used Chinese take out chop sticks and put the foam over it and it worked great! Very easy to mold, but it does take a while to dry so be patient! It’s nice and solid after drying tho and I was able to easily paint over it too! Perfect for anyone wanting to be creative, but not sure where to start! ... show more

  • What an amazing product! So versatile.
Size: 500g Color: White
In my wild hair projects, I tend to jump in before I'm fully prepared and while I was trying to build my Amanita Mushroom-shaped dollhouse, I'd already begun the project before I even began to consider what I was going to shape the exterior with. I wanted something lightweight, smooth and malleable, and for a while, I was considering papier mache or air-dry clay, but both of those are bulkier and heavier than I wanted. I searched for different materials and came across a cosplayer making something with foam clay. I thought it was a brilliant option and I was not wrong. To work with, it has the feel of soft marshmallow, but without the stickiness. I created a basic armature over the wood and framing with aluminum foil. I used the foam clay directly on that for the stem of the mushroom. It's really cool how it applies in a textured fashion, but sort of puffs up a little and smooths when it dries. The smoother you make it as you apply it, the smoother it will make itself after drying. I put two coats on each surface. For an even smoother surface for the mushroom cap, I added hat mulling, which is in essence, a thin sheet of wool or poly filler one uses to quilt with. I glued that onto the foil armature, and then applied the foam clay over that. It made for a nice, unblemished surface. It dries slightly harder than neoprene. It has a little give. It's sandable, paintable and super-versatile for a craft product. I can think of so many applications you can use it for. From costuming and cosplay, to models, miniatures, toy making and so much more. Excellent product. Totally recommend! It's not cheap. For the amount you get, it seems a little expensive. I had to use two tubs for this project. ... show more

  • Versatile, but with a few drawbacks and some workarounds
Size: 300g Color: White
I've been using this foam clay for a cosplay for about a month or so now. It's definitely lightweight, very moldable, and can be easy to work with if you know what you're doing. Depending on how thick your piece is, it can take a while for it to dry too. Here are the pros and cons I've found so far: Pros: - Becomes more lightweight when dry - Can add a little water when it starts to dry out to make it more pliable - Easily sandable - Easy to work with - Takes molds pretty well - put your clay in your mold and stick it in the freezer for at least few hours. Take it out and immediately pop it out of your mold, and leave it to dry Cons (with some workarounds): - Brittle when fully dry - your piece will likely break if you try to flex it too much, and it doesn't really have the same flexibility as EVA foam does. I've found brushing at least couple of coats of Flexbond will help make it flex when it's dry. (White school glue may also be an alternative, but I am not 100% sure) - Shrinks when dry - if you're trying to make precisely sized pieces, it does shrink a little bit. I've had to make test pieces to see how much it shrinks, and size some patterns accordingly - Flattens out a bit while drying - instead of using EVA foam to make some beveled strips for armor, I tried using the foam clay to make them instead. After shaping them and leaving them to dry, I noticed the sides kind of deflate and flatten out, losing a little bit of height and shape. I've had to reshape it with my fingers every once in a while, but I don't know if babysitting my piece as it dries is something I want to do. Overall I think this gets the job done, but depending on what you're trying to do with the clay, you'll have to make adjustments. ... show more

  • Stuff works great!
Size: 300g Color: White
I used this to make Andorian antennae for a Star Trek cosplay for San Diego Comic Con and it worked great! It was easily painted with my water based makeup and there was no cracking. I loved that the product isn't sticky and molds quickly and easily but allows a little time for adjustments before it starts to harden. The finished product is soft and a little pliable and not rigid but holds it shape very well. I used pipe cleaners as a form to mold the product over to make the antennae just to be sure it had structural support. The small bucket provided enough product to make two sets of antennae and still have plenty of product for other projects. ... show more

  • Highly unpleasant to work with, but it works.
Size: 500g Color: Grey
Out of the package, it behaves like chewed bubble gum - it sticks to everything. When you try to pull a chunk off, it doesn't break; it strings like gum. This means, when you pull away your fingers from the part you're sculpting, it sticks to your fingers (even if you wet your fingers) and produces strings that cover the entire rest of your project. In fact, the ziplock closure of the bag it came in was immediately fouled when I tried to pull out my first blob of foam. It says it takes 24-48 hours to dry, but it only takes a few minutes to dry to your fingers, leaving you with dried hunks of foam that you then have to dig out of the piece you're smoothing. It acts as if it is both too wet and too dry at the same time. On the positive side, it has no smell unlike Gap Filla, and you're able to create an ultra-fine surface finish smoothing with water. You have to be incredibly careful not to press too hard or you'll pick up strings, but when it works, it works well. ... show more
