The rods themselves aren't bad. The reels are absolute trash. The line that comes with them is not good. Almost could not get them respooled because the guy thought the machine would break the spools. The drag knob is useless and does not work. The lure kit is OK, but overall, this package is not worth the price at all. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this fishing combination kit to use while traveling over the road and air. I do a lot of travel across the US and Europe. This kit caught my attention since it had everything needed and was compact. I will be using them in fresh water for trout, panfish, and bass. I also plan to use them in salt water for smaller fish like snapper. The kit includes 2 rods, 2 reels, 2 spools of monofilament, and a good selection of tackle. It all fits in an included 16" long x 4" wide x 4" tall bag. For everything included, its a decent value but the quality could be better. They will last for fresh water use but salt water use will tear them up without proper care. I like the telescoping rods, they are 6' long have cork handles and ceramic guides. The reels are nothing special, they are smooth but feel cheap. The tackle is adequate, spoons and plastics are good quality but jigs and plug is cheap. The reels come with monofilament line spooled on them and additional spools are included. This line is AWFUL, all it wants to do is tangle as shown in the image. I took all the line off the reels, threw it away, and put some quality 6 pound fluorocarbon line on them. With new line the rods and reels work like a dream. The 2 piece fishing combo is a good kit for beginners or travel when space and weight is limited. Not a bad deal at this price point but it is not top of the line gear. ... show more
