Fast focus, tack-sharp images, and a perfect focal length for group shots. I love the aperture ring and since most of my work is outdoors I love the internal zoom that prevents dirt and sand from getting inside the lens. Did I mention the price for what you get is amazing?

I am mainly a wedding videographer, this is my go-to for a gimbal. I run 70-200GMmkII and my lens pair. I have used 24-70mkii, 50gm 1.2, old sigma 35 1.2, and others. This is the go-to lens. Heavy as hell but for me is a plus. The focus/zoom ring is not as pleasing as Sony lenses but usable. It doesn't matter but the lens is beautiful to look at. I am not used to how sharp Sigma is, I thought I wouldn't like it but damn it is clean. My only negative review is that the distortion barrel/pin is massive. With a LR correction, it looks perfect, but that is more challenging for video to fix. I wanted a fast zoom I could float on a gimbal, this was a heaven send. ... show more

    • Sharp as my primes
Just got one of these yesterday. Sharp wide open at both sides of the zoom. Very contrasty. Bokeh isn't quite as smooth as some of the primes I compared it against. Looks like this will be my main lens for my portrait business shoots. Fast autofocus.
