Was waiting for a portable trim saw like this for a long time. I had a plug-in (non-milwaukee) 7 1/4" miter saw before and continued to use it even after getting my relatively new 10" milwaukee miter saw, just because it was easier to move and manipulate to my project. Shadow cut is reliable and accurate too. It cost 3x as much as my plug in trim saw (even with the extension cord I dedicated to it), but so far, the quality and convenience make it worth it. I've never had a problem with battery life (especially with other batteries on hand) and can go multiple days without charging, but I do sometimes wish big red would come out with an 18v plugin battery adapter for their 18v lineup. Also, I guess if they had a shoulder strap, it would make it easier to lug around. Great product. ... show more

    • Excellent lightweight saw.
Purchased one of these a couple of months ago to use on jobs where a 12 inch isn't needed. So far this saw has been excellent and the light weight is appreciated for moving it on a regular basis. We've used it for hardwood flooring, trim work, installing decking and a range of other stuff without disappointment. I'd highly recommend this saw for punch list work and smaller jobs where you don't need a bigger saw. ... show more

This seller is not covered by the Milwaukee warranty. They shouldn’t be allowed to claim to have a 5-year warranty. To be clear - Milwaukee will still support the warranty if the model was manufactured less than 5 years ago (they can tell from the serial number) They typically support the 5-year warranty from the purchase date. HOWEVER that is only from the an Authorized Dealer, which this seller is not. So unless you know in advance when the unit that you are receiving was manufactured, you have no idea how long the warranty will end up being when you get it. ... show more

    • this is a good finish trim saw, it cuts very precise , i love it!!
so this saw really impressed me. I was a little skeptical about the price but it was well worth the investment. very lightweight sets up fast and is really handy for quick little jobs. the battery lasted all day very nice quality saw. milwaulkie is simply the best in my eyes.

After researching and buying 4 different compound sliders that were 10" and 7 1/4" I settled down on the m18 fuel 7 1/4" sliding compound miter saw. Setup was a breeze and the use of plastic pieces in this saw is minimal and everything is done to minimize transit noise and increase easy of transport. From the way the handle is shapes, to the rubber grommet surrounding the place when the including wrench for changing the blade is all made to make this a better portable saw. Yes it cut true, without any blade wobble during my usage. The fencing is adjustable as you like. It's the lightest Sliding Compound miter on the market, and they got it down in size by minimizing a lot of larger items like locking levels down to pull out metal pins and pegs. The base is also fairly small but it does the job well. Now how does this saw perform? Excellently.. from the LED cut light which is super accurate, down to the fast stopping of the blade after letting go. The base pivots easily and you can change the settings just as easily. Dust Collection is much, much better than the 10" m18 miter saw due to having the dust port being right below the blade. I was cutting flooring for a condo remodel, and it lasted me throughout the entire work done on 1 9.0Ah battery. Why I docked a star? Due to being limited to the battery form factor, unlike dewalt they didn't offer an m18 adapter which dewalt offers in their 12" flexvolt saw. In addition the comparable corded saw costs just under 1/3rd of the price of the cordless version not including any batteries, which is a bit hard to swallow. This would be a perfect 5/5 other then that, so if you don't mind these issues then by all means this is as good as it gets in battery format. ... show more
