Bought this to pair with my new wired Ring doorbell. The house didn't have an existing doorbell wire or chime. Installation was simple, didn't even need the instructions. I had an outlet along the exterior wall about 8 feet from the front door, so drilled a small hole next to the outlet and ran the line through the wall, behind the vinyl siding, and to the doorbell. The line was MORE than long enough for this. Now the line is not visible as it hides behind the doorbell, siding, and enters the house through a small hole next to the outlet where it plugs in.     • Works for Amazon Thermostat
It worked! Have common installed but apparently isn’t connected. I have a rooftop unit and couldn’t get anyone to even come check it for less than $100. If not connected they were talking about additional $200 to run and install thermostat. Took a risk and gave this a try. Saved me $250 and did myself. His wife in wall and on base board. Has very long cable. I do wish it had a screw hold to mount to plate to avoid achjdental unplugging as it will shut down unit and possibly need resintall each time so make sure it’s in a secure place. Also take your time, label wires and TAKE PICTURES! YT videos weren’t much help but if you slow down and follow paper instructions it will make sense. ... show more

The instructions are not correc to properly wire it to a thermostat in the South where you hav a jumpered Rc and Rh. If you follow the instuctions as is, you IONLY get heat. You MUST use/keep a jumper from rc to rh

    • Just what I needed!
Wish I'd known or thought of this years ago. My Ring doorbell doesn't have a removable battery, and I couldn't hardwire it to my existing house doorbell location due to the narrow width. I've been having to remove the Ring, bring it into the house, and charge it for 6-8 hours every couple months...or sooner in the colder months. Now I've run the wires from this transformer to an outlet in my garage, drilled a hole through the wall directly where the terminals are on the back of the Ring, plugged it in and Voila! My Ring now shows as hardwired and is slow-charging the battery so it will run even in the event of power outage. ... show more

Edit: seller responded and sent a refund so I’m updating to three stars for good customer service. I hooked this adapter up to my thermostat and it did not work. I began troubleshooting - I thought maybe I wired it wrong. After trying multiple options and re-stripping wire to make clean connections I still got nothing. I then tried another adapter I have working on a different thermostat - and it all worked fine! I then checked to see if I damaged the cable during install. Nope. Finally, I got out my multimeter to test it. No voltage at all! Do not buy. ... show more

It does exactly what it supposed to do. It gives you more choices since it’s fully charged at all times you can go live and you can rest assured your battery status fully charged takes a long time to get it up to charge so I would suggest charging your battery first, and then keep this is a battery tender ... show more
