  • Brilliant stovetop for LPG - Great burners - Safety features work
I carefully studied options and chose this because one review indicated the conversion to LPG and that it worked well after that. Once converted to LPG and adjusted this is the best cooker I've ever had: It's ideal for our small flat. Termopar in each burner cuts gas off if burner is not lit. Burners with LPG are as good as Natural Gas, once converted. (My previous stove did not have termopar safety feature and it was a reason for buying a new one.) You do have to follow the indications carefully to convert to Liquid Propane Gas: - First you have to replace the nozzles as indicated: Each is different, but clearly indicated. Use a magnifying glass to see the diameter for each. This is easy. Use a very small I think 8mm socket bit. - Second, modify the brilliant included pressure regulator. I did not know about these, but they seem to make all the difference. The indications are not very clear however. There are two springs inside and one of them is hidden, so you can get confused. You must NOT remove the four screws and disassemble. You need ONLY unscrew the cap nut which is rather confusing and strange, because it is not hexagonal and is not evidently something that can be removed. However, you can unscrew the cap easy with an adjustable wrench. Inside is a very small fine screw that you must remove. Under it, well hidden and not visible, is a small spring. Turn the screw with the small spring over and screw on, so that the spring is now visible and towards the inside. Replace cap. Not complicated, once it is clear what must be done. (I believe this small spring counters the other larger one inside and thus regulates pressure adequately for LPG.) - Once stovetop is installed and working, adjust burners as indicated, with a very thin long small tip flat screwdriver. Like those used to adjust other devices. (Long time ago, carburetors.) Just leave each burner on for a while until quite hot, remove knob by pulling up. (Can be hard.) Inside is the small adjustment screw you can find with a small lamp. Close clockwise only until fire on low does not go off and works to your taste, but with full fire and lower than high setting. It took a while for me to cut my countertop and adapt everything for this cooker and a small electric oven underneath, but now we have a brilliant combination. Cosori electric oven is way better than the old stove oven. This stovetop is way better than other cookers and stoves. Great combination of burners and very effective large burner for high fire situations. Much recommended. ... show more

  • Cooks most things well.
Size: 12 inch-black Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. For the most part I like the stove. The big burner could be hotter. And the smaller burner I wish I could simmer with. I took a photo of a 5 quart pot on the simmer burner and this is the lowest boil that I can get. Generally use both burners in their lowest setting. On a positive note I can put a 15 gallon stock pot that covers both burners and get it to boil. It just takes a while. ... show more

  • Great for the price! Propane users take heed..
Great for the money! Two of the reasons I ordered this was to have a burner small enough for 3 cup moka pots, and another big enough to heat a bigger cast iron more evenly. It does both! Propane users: Make sure if you are converting this to burn LP (liquid propane) gas instead of natural gas, that you do the full setup. If you don't, your max flame will be too small, and your minimum flame will only be slightly smaller than that. The manual sucks so read this (but read the manual too). Keep in mind I have the 24" model. 1) You must replace the burner nozzles (it comes with them, just remove the old ones with a socket wrench and put the new ones in their place according to the chart in the manual, and save them in case you resell your unit to someone using natural gas), 2) you must flip the diaphragm spring inside the pressure regulator, this will increase your max flame to a normal size (use wrench to remove large nut on the regulator, flip the spring thing over so it matches the drawing for LPG, then reassemble the regulator), AND 3) I highly recommend adjusting the burner valves. This further increases the range of your flame control. To adjust the burner valves, you need to remove the stainless steel cover of the cooktop, by removing the screws at each burner head. This reveals the small adjustment screws next to each knob. The manual implies you can access them without removing the cover but on mine you can't. So without putting the cover on, place the burner caps onto each burner so they control the flame properly, then ignite one burner at a time and adjust. The adjustment screws control how small you can make the flame at the lowest setting. So with the flame going, turn the knob to the lowest cook setting and adjust the little screw down ever so carefully so the flame gets as small as possible without sputtering out. Now you have a good range, small to large. I wish it was a smoother flame control, as it kind of goes up or down in little "steps" as you turn the knob, but for the low cost of the cooktop that's understandable. One more thing for propane, 4) you'll need a brass adapter for the gas line, or at least I did. Mine required me to get a "3/8 inch male Taper, to 1/2 inch male Pipe, half-union" .. make sure you check what type of connector your gas line has. It'll cost like 8 bucks but the Pipe end will connect to the cooktop, while the taper end will connect to your propane line (if it's standard RV style like mine). For the low price tag it's a great product! Heavy cast iron grills are solid and fit well, and the burner caps fit well and control the flames well. The electric ignition is nice. Easy to operate. I'm tempted to knock the score down slightly for all the little minor inconveniences of getting it set up, and the fact that sometimes little parts of the flame aren't 100% perfect on a really low setting, and the slightly jumpy temp control... But for the price I have to give it a high score. ... show more

  • Not sophisticated
Size: 12 inch-black Color: Black
This is a well made and attractive cook top. There was a delay in delivery due to Covid but communication was good and we finally got the cook top. I give 3 stars to mean "average" because in spite of the positive purchase experience, the stove's performance is not very good. Specifically, the burners are not adequately adjustable to cook a wide range of food. Neither burner gets hot enough to boil a large pot of water quickly. Even a 2 qt saucepan of water ill take 10 minutes to come to a boil. Also, neither burner turns down low enough to simmer. I made rice on the small burner, and even at the lowest setting, the rice water boiled over. I used a good omelet pan on the large burner and it was also too hot... the eggs browned before they cooked through. This cook top makes heat, and seems reliable, but if you are an advanced cook you will want something that gives you more control. ... show more
