This review is for the E-POWO brand 110 watt portable solar panel. I’m sure you’ve heard the old adage “you can’t judge a book by its cover”. I have a new one for you. You can’t judge a portable solar panel by its listing. I like all things solar. I was happy to get to review this panel, because this style is my favorite form factor for portable panels. To test the panel, I put it on my driveway which faces west. It was around 5 pm with good conditions. I did not do anything fancy. I just pointed it in the general direction of the sun and used whatever angle the kick stands on the back of the panel are set to. I was testing five different panels, so I didn’t have time to dawdle. To my amazement, the panel was producing 99 watts! That’s 90% of the rated capacity! The other portable panels I tested ranged from 66% to 75% of rated output and 85% for a standard panel. Read that again, this panel beat a brand new standard solar panel! I connected a 100 watt Renogy standard solar panel right afterwards. I use it as a reference since solar conditions can vary a lot. The Renogy panel produced 75.5 watts in the same location in the same conditions. Using the USB-C port, the panel was able to source 67.7 watts. I don’t see a spec for the USB-C output, but it looks like it maxes out at about 65 watts. This panel uses a snap to secure the kickstands when the panel is not in use. I prefer this over the Velcro style hook and loop method. The hook and loop patches seem to constantly catch on each other while the panel is being placed or relocated. It makes the process more difficult that it should be. Snaps completely fix the problem. The panel is held closed by magnets. The magnet strength seemed to be dialed in and just right. The cable coming out of the panel have the standard solar MC-4 style connectors. The cable is about 18 inches long. It is really just a short pigtails. To me, this is perfect. The MC-4 connectors allow me to connect any gauge or length of wire I choose. I can readily connect several in parallel for more output. MC-4 adapter cables are readily available to match your favorite brand of power station. For those that want a complete solution, a cable with seven different connecting options is provided. The blue cables match the blue trim on the panel making it easy to identify.

I live in N/W PA and there is a reason it's called the 'wetlands'. Between the snow and rain this past year, we really have not had a lot of clear sunny days. But this works even during a gray sky. With today's atmosphere, and I'm not just talking weather, being prepared is crucial. Crucial. This awesome solar panel has everything. It folds into a neat and thin single entity so you can tuck it easily within reach, but out of sight. It also has a magnetic closure, so it's not flopping around while you are carrying it, or transporting it in your vehicle for camping trips. It's made exceptionally well from what I can tell, it has the right ports and wires (see photos), an attached zippered storage bag to keep your kit altogether, and a built in stand to help you aim towards the sun... that is... if you can find any. Just kidding. The sun still rises and sets every single day without fail, unlike our power grid, which in my area goes down every time the wind blows. Out in the sticks, a tree falls and takes power lines with it, and sometimes we have been without power for days as our amazing road crews work to get things running again. In the meantime... whip out your solar panel and charge up your essential devices. I'm very fond of the colors as well. Whomever thought that teal would be appealing was right. So much better than 'emergency orange'. This is really a great item to have, even if you think you might not ever need it. And as a gift!!?? WOW! Get one for your adult kids and their families, or a parent who lives alone and may need to be prepared for any emergency. Tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, bad storms, and bad people, all can knock out the power at any time. A backup plan is essential. And while you are at it, learn to grow food in containers. So simple. And invest in a greenhouse if you can. This 110 watt solar panel arrived in just a couple of days and is accurately described by the seller.
