After a bit of trial and error I think I got this thing on correctly, but it sure would have been nice to have instructions with nice clear drawings! The rubber smells quite strongly, so good that it's out in the garage and not in the house! The adhesive held very well, also good since the tiny-headed nails provided seem inappropriate to hold it on as they look like they'd pull through. I think I will add some screws rather than nails, since my garage door is aluminum. This item, once installed, has blocked out the visible light gap under the door; I need to wait for a good rainstorm to see how weather-resistant it is! ... show more

We have an OLD garage door. It is at least 30 years old. The previous owner had taken a similar seal and installed it wrong. He basically nailed it to the bottom of the door. I tried to install this as shown, but the adhesive will not stick to the door. Maybe it would if this was a brand new paint job, but I still doubt that. I just took a bunch of roofing nails and used one about every 4 inches across the bottom of the door. It still is not great for my garage door, because the bottom corners have a metal bracket for the rollers. It is not possible to nail into the wood at that point. A typical rubber seal for the bottom of an older garage door. You nail it on with the supplied nails, or in my case I prefer to use short wood screws. This is identical to one I purchased at a big box store for my other garage door.

This seal fit well as an extra to cover a bit of a gab that was not completely covered but one with railing. Seems to be of good quality and durability would recommend to anyone with older home .

I found this product very easy to install, but the larger rubber piece sticks straight out, doesn’t turn down. Therefore, I still have a gap and can see daylight under the garage door.
