This has made a big difference with our old windows. Most of our windows are old single pane with a storm window. I put this insulation on the inside after taping up the storm window on the outside to stop air flow. The bedrooms are warmer now, and should be cooler this summer.

This insulation was easy to work with especially when cutting. I insulated my garage door with it using Alien tape to secure it to the door panels. I also used a left over piece to make a cover for my patio TV.

I was skeptical that this product would have decent insulation efficiency at only 5 mm thick but it really does better than fiberglass insulation, I used it to wrap my 8” metal ducts under my house (remember to not wrap the duct tightly cause a air gap is crucial for high efficiency) It’s also nice that you have no fiberglass itch or respiration issues in a 48” roll it applies quickly with less tape with one roll I covered 52’ including the distribution box.

I bought this a while ago, and I built a cold storage room for canned items and canning foods for a customer. I put up 1” by 3/4” Slats of wood over the drywall. Then painted everything and sealed it. Then I went through and cut all these pieces and use more of the wooden slats to go over it and hold it in place along with liquid nail. So there Is a gap between the drywall and this insulation. So when it’s 110 outside like it was the other day it’s 57° in there. Plus, I oversize the AC a little that helped I’m sure I recommend this stuff if you do it, it will definitely help tremendously!

GREAT at reflecting heat of the sun through glass. I used this on curved plexiglass windows in my sun room. Easily cut to size. If you live in a PUD and homeowners association doesn’t allow this sort of protection on regular sized windows you can slip sheets of this lightly stiffened, foam backed, aluminum material temporarily, with a piece of scotch tape, between the glass and curtain/window shade and remove it once the sun no longer shines on the glass. It’s really useful and since it’s temporary it’s not unsightly.

I love this stuff. I don't have a very scientific way of measuring its insulating property, but you can tell the shiny side is bouncing heat back at you. Just 5mm seems like it made a big difference. I used this to insulate the inside of a brick foundation wall and also function as a vapor barrier. The below-grade part of the wall transmits moisture from the ground, which I wanted to block, and the above-grade part of the wall gets cold in winter and condenses moisture from the house. I think this material will do both things and we are hoping it really reduces our moisture/mold problem. I'm thinking of using the leftovers to insulate appliances (freezer, fridge, water heater). Anyway, I wanted to say how easy this stuff is to work with. It has enough body that it was easy to measure and cut with the roll standing up (to avoid dust getting on it by touching the floor), and to lay it into place, is easy to cut with ordinary shears (you can just push the shears along it), lightweight enough that I'm not worried about it falling off the wall. It also has a bit of stretch to it, just enough that it can accommodate the unevenness of the wall and be pressed closely in to the butyl tape we used to mount it (to which it stuck quite convincingly). I sealed two panels together using foil tape on the shiny side. The polyethylene membrane on the white side is quite thin, but overall I am confident this material will work as an effective enough vapor barrier for the purpose at hand. Altogether, I am very happy with this material.

The high temp picture is without the insulation. The 92.3 is with it. The final picture is the temperature with heat reflective curtains in addition to this insulation. Obviously the temperature drop with both combined is tremendously impressive. I live in an old building and my patio windows are dual pane however being that they are so old, they do not insulate in the least. I highly recommend this product also in addition to some magnetic thermal insulated curtains. An absolute must for southern summers.
