This pump works well and seems to be of robust quality. I remove 1 star simply because it did not work for my intended use. I am rebuilding a Harley bagger and wanted this to siphon the gas out of the tank. But the pump bulb is too large to fit into my bikes fuel tank. Not to worry though, I used the manual pump for my kerosene heater for the gas and used this pump for my kerosene heater. It all worked out.

I have a water fountain that holds about 5 gallons that needs drained periodically for cleaning and winterizing. I used to drain it by sticking a hose in the fountain, sucking on one end and letting gravity due its thing. Aside from the health aspects, it would lose suction frequently once it got close to the bottom. After reviewing several different kinds of suction pumps out there, I decided on this battery operated Transfer Pump by Bestcosy. I like the fact that you can use either 'D' cell or 'AA' batteries since I don't always have both on hand. I also like the long hose which adds versatility to different situations/uses. It is also small and is easy to store. It appears to be well made and should last. After I got this, I gave it a try and was not disappointed as it efficiently drained my fountain in no time. I wish I'd have bought this a long time ago as there have been other times I could have used an item like this.

Does almost exactly what it says on the pack. Must qualify that. Now I have paid attention to how fast it pumps I can tell you that it is faster than the last transfer pump I had (which wore out), similar design from a different source. Timing without a stopwatch, my estimate of its GPM is “slightly slower than 2.8” using a pair of D cells. The rotating assembly runs quiet, well balanced and smooth implying a high degree of precision. Looking at the holders provided for the use of AA batteries, I see that they organize the AA’s In series to supply 9 volts. That would certainly speed up the liquid delivery but I am not going to try that because of what others have said in other reviews about their experiences of doing so. Seems that there is a possibility of the higher voltage making heat related issues more likely, shortening the life of the pump. The moldings all fit nicely and appear accurately finished where it counts using stout materials. The flexible delivery pipe feels a little thicker than I expected with well finished fittings. Its delivery end pipe and clips offer a good solution for filling my RV. which has a standard screw on cap. There is a series of ridges which allow the clip some adjustment along the ridged section of pipe which allowed me to also make it fit the cap-less filler of the Honda. Well thought out and feels more robust than my previous pump. That’s a thumbs up from me.
