For a reconditioned product, the aluminum shell is in good condition. Once minor scratch across the Apple logo, which is acceptable since the product is not new. You can tell that the keyboard has been used. The biggest problem is at least one of the onboard speakers is blown. This looks and functions a new. The only difference I can see between this one and brand new is the price. I signed up for Apple Care so no warranty issues either.

The laptop itself is really nice. Looks like perfect condition. However, the charger doesn’t work. At all. Cube looks like it has been destroyed but isn’t even big enough voltage to charge a laptop! When I changed cubes, the charger still didn’t work. Fortunately my husband had an extra Pro charger, but I should get a replacement for free! Not paying this much to get the wrong/not working charger. And then have to buy one separately? Lame. If you’re paying this much, refurbished or not, they better give you working/correct chargers! ... show more

Just arrived. This “used” laptop is like brand new. There are ZERO scratches, scuffs, and not a single finger print. I’ll follow up with another review if something doesn’t work out but at first look it’s perfect and apple care+ is even still active. Nice!!!!

    • Don't get the Refurbished: Acceptable
I bought the acceptable refurbished model. When I first got it, I noticed it was dirty and some of the edges were chipped. I guess that's acceptable but I expected it to be a little more refined. The main issue I encountered was the SHIFT key. It was mushy and I couldn't feel the clicky feeling when I pressed down on it. Sometimes I would click it and the SHIFT key wouldn't even work. I think I got a faulty refurbished model. The majority of the reviews on this product said that it was good. I think I was unlucky. Regardless, I had to return it because the physical condition wasn't that impressive and the keyboard SHIFT key was practically unusable. Everything else on the MacBook was great though. I could ignore the slightly damaged physical condition of the MacBook, but I could not ignore the faulty SHIFT key since it's something that actually matters to productivity. ... show more
