Update 3/30/26 - Item returned. No fault to the seller, the laptop is showing signs of EOL. The trackpad took a little more effort to get moving around, the mouse did jitter intermittently. Battery drainage from 30%-20% was within ten minutes on light browsing. The cpu could use a possible re-pasting as it did get hot under little load. Did notice the pinwheel of death multiple times without load just navigating through the finder, no network storage attached. Bluetooth speakers seemed to crackle and disconnect quite a bit or crackled. I unfortunately had to return. Purchased from: TechDeals4Less – Renewed Premium Condition: For a product listed as Renewed Premium, I expected no dents or gashes visible from normal viewing distance. The attached photo was taken from several feet away, and the dent on the top case is immediately noticeable. The keyboard condition aligns with what I would expect from a 4–5 year old device. While the dent itself isn’t a functional defect, its size is significant enough that I deducted two stars. Battery: Battery health is solid and within the Renewed Premium criteria, with 165 cycles and 93% capacity remaining. Performance / Use Case: I needed a reliable laptop for software engineering and running local LLMs that fit into memory without excessive battery drain. At the moment, Apple silicon laptops are effectively the only option that meets this requirement, otherwise I would have opted for a newer Linux-based system. Should you buy it? Yes—provided you manage expectations. This is a 4–5 year old laptop and should not be expected to be flawless. Final thoughts: Aside from the large dent and visibly worn keyboard, the device functions as expected. That said, I would strongly encourage the seller to apply more critical standards when grading items as “Refurbished Premium.” Buyers should reasonably assume normal wear, but not obvious dents or cosmetic damage, regardless of battery health. ... show more
