I am a complete beginner at welding. Despite that, I was able to weld with great ease and achieved a very clean finish. This is truly excellent equipment for the price. It is perfect for DIY welding projects around the house—I highly recommend it. However, there is one thing you need to be careful about: if you turn the amperage gauge up past 125, the power may trip. I initially set it to 160, and the power cut out a few times; but once I adjusted it to 120, it worked flawlessly without any power interruptions. I definitely recommend this product.

I don’t know much about welding. I got this to weld some exhaust pipes on an old car I’ve been working on. Welding is dangerous. While I love the cost of this item, I wonder if reducing the barriers to entry for such a dangerous activity is a good idea. The item itself is reasonably nice, durable, and convenient to store. The dial for adjustment is easy to use, although could benefit from being bigger (so you don’t have to turn the machine off and take off the gloves to adjust. Just a thought?) It’s pretty powerful for most jobs. The gloves wore a hole rather quickly, and the hammer/brush aren’t that great. Also the electrodes seemed cheaper than I would have wanted. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

5 stars only because the price but actually this is pretty good. The "200 Amp" claim.. I mean come on but these thing does lay beads and the included kit is actually probably worth a good chunk of the price alone. It is pretty easy to strike and maintain an arc. Pay attention to duty cycle! My breaker would trip before this little machine would give up though. You aren't going to make a living welding with this but you can stick some steel together for sure. I showed it to a professional welder and he said "No way! I gotta get one" so there is that. I have used machines well over 100X more expensive than this and for stick, honestly, this can do some work for what it is.

I am a certified AWS stick welder for 65 5G and 2G 5 inch schedule 80 pipe. I have worked in naval ship yards and I have done on site repair jobs. This stick welder is amazing. I would recommend using 6013 for welding on this machine it doesn’t like 7018 or 6010. It has enough power for 1/4 inch steel and maybe thicker if you want to push it. Its size is perfect for easy travel and it’s seems well built.
