This thing is amazing. Do not trust that thermometer it comes with. It showed 106° and I hopped in and about cooked myself. I grabbed a good thermometer and it showed 117°. That’s in a 55 gallon bathtub. My apartment hot water tank is only a 25 gallon so this is going to make baths possible again. 🤗 I had to edit this. It freaking melted my extension cord. Kinda freaked me out the cord was so hot.

I'll start by noting that I already have one of these from a different brand and it works GREAT for RV life. Same as this one, 2000W, same length, same circumference, just a different brand. I use it for doing dishes, instead of waiting 30 minutes for the propane heater to do its thing and it helps save me money on refills. It works quickly, quietly, and efficiently, giving me 2 gallons of scalding hot water in about 30 minutes. I don't have to worry about it because it stops when the internal temp sensor hits 160F. I like to have backups for things I use frequently, so grabbed this one as well. This particular device, though, is INTENSE. I let it go and do its thing, and in about 37 minutes I had literal boiling water, like it was over my propane stove. Not just a little easy boil, no no, this was a giant, bubbling, VIOLENTLY roiling boil. Evidently there is no thermal cutoff on this model. Even after I realized it wasn't rain on the roof and in fact my sink was boiling over, unplugged it, and let it sit to cool off for about 10 minutes, the water still temp'd at 193F. I made an executive decision to not upload the thermometer with my sink full of dishes in the background, but trust when I say this thing WORKS. So, do NOT plug it in and leave the area. Keep an eye on it, or face potentially bigger problems than cold water. For a small sink or wash basin this may be a bit too much. For a larger bath or maybe even a small pool, I'd say it would work absolutely perfectly. I'm both scared and impressed at its efficiency. Even with as hot as it got that sink it still was pulling less than 15A. Normally I plug into my 20A plug but didn't really think about it and plugged into a 15A GFCI circuit and nothing tripped. I know the GFCI works because it trips regularly when I plug in the hair dryer. Idk what kind of magic they used on this gizmo but I'm VERY glad to have it. 4 stars for all that, deducted 1 star because without that thermal cutoff before literal Hell levels of heat, it could be potentially very dangerous. I'm curious now if there is a limit, or if it will just keep going until it melts itself. Maybe my unit is faulty because I know theres regulations for devices like this but dang dude, that was wild. Get one, just use it carefully and responsibly.

Waiting on a tank water heater when you just need hot water for a bucket, tub, or basin never made sense to me, and this immersion heater solves that directly. At 2000W it heats around 5 gallons of water in minutes, which is enough for camping cleanup, a kiddie pool, or topping off a bath without running the whole house system. The 304 stainless steel guard around the heating element is the feature that matters most, it keeps the actual heating coil from direct contact with people, pets, or the container itself, which is both a safety feature and something that protects a plastic bucket from melting. The digital LCD thermometer takes the guesswork out of checking water temp, no more dipping a hand in to test it. It is compact and light enough to toss in a camping bin or under a sink for whenever you need backup hot water. Being submersible and portable, it covers a lot of situational uses beyond just camping, like winter livestock water or emergency backup if a water heater goes out. This works pretty well, and heats water very quickly, but I'm honestly a little bit scared to use it myself. There are tons of warning signs about how easy it is to catch it on fire or to create an electrical hazard, making it not that easy or foolproof to use. It has a rather short electrical cord that undermines its portability.

This immersion heater does what it’s designed to do. It heats water fairly quickly, and the digital thermometer is a useful addition for checking the temperature. It’s lightweight and easy to pack for camping or use around the house for buckets, basins, or tubs. As with any immersion heater, it’s important to follow the instructions carefully and use it only in appropriate containers. Overall, it’s a practical tool to have when you need hot water without a permanent setup.
