  • Nice product for color & nail strength!
Color: A-Nude-Pink Set
I received this dip powder kit and got right to it using the powder. I followed the directions included in the kit since this is the first time I've ever used dip powder on my nails and after I did my thumbs I decided to pull out my UV light because the dry time once I applied the top coat was quite long and I messed one up that I had to fix. Make sure you have the right files and buffers so you get the best surface prior to doing the top coat. If you don't like what your nails look like after putting the top coat, buff it really well and repeat the base coat & dip powder step followed by the activator step & that should allow you to fix what you don't like. You'll gently buff the surface again and apply the top coat twice. I did NOT put my fingers in the dip powder, I chose to use the cuticle pusher spoon to sprinkle the powder over each nail that had the base coat. Just use a small tupperware container to do this. I was able to save a lot of powder in the end by doing this and my nails turned out very nice considering this was my first time doing this type of manicure. The only reason I have the UV light is because I've tried the gel manicure kit and absolutely hated it. My nails have always done better with acrylic nails in terms of longevity which is probably why I had such nice results today. If you smudge the top coat because it's not fully dry, take a small amount of acetone on a paper towel and gently apply it in a parallel motion from cuticle to end of nail a few times and it will smooth out your finish. Add another layer of top coat to get that lacquer look and you're ready to go! I think my nails look better than when I get them done at the salon, so all in all, I'm very impressed and will definitely be using this method with the other colors in the kit. The bottles of applicator liquid are small and the color powder containers are also very small, but based off of the amount I used today to do my hands, there's plenty of manicures left just with that color alone. I suspect the applicator liquids will need replacing much faster than the powder, but that's to be expected. The only downside is not really being able to tell what each color truly will look like until it's on your nails. I'm not sure about the longevity of this product since I just used it for the first time today, but I do like how it applied using the sprinkle method & my nails feel great hours later. Good luck! ... show more

  • Easier than gels and a UV light!
Color: A-Warm Winter
I've been doing my own manicures for years. I have gels and a UV light. It can be tricky, especially, the glitter polishes. But this was soooo easy. Make sure you have clean nails. Push back your cuticles, trim around your nails, file your nails, and shape them. Then follow the instructions. I learned - this first time around - that it's better to do a thin base coat and dip, then repeat 3x. I wasn't sure what I was doing and put the base coat on a little thick and this meant for lumpy nails. But not to worry, you can file that down to smooth it out AFTER you out in the activator coat and wait about a minute. Two coats of the gel top coat and my nails are pretty, sparkly, and they feel strong! My one complaint is that the pink I chose looks nude on me. But still sparkly. I can't wait to try the other colors. This comes with so much and you don't use very much for one application. I imagine this set will last me a long while. It's been a few days of normal wear, and they still look great and I've gotten lots of compliments. UPDATE >>> My nails lasted about a week before they started popping off. (They come off whole, which is nice.) I do cook a lot and wash my hands constantly (then apply lotion), so I never keep manicures long BUT the great thing about this is that it takes so little time to do my nails, I just re did the ones that popped off and now my manicure is perfect again. ... show more

  • If I hadn’t been a nail tech, my review would have been less stars
Color: A-Nude-Pink Set
I do not believe this is a good product for beginners. The small containers of powder would be fine for short nails, but with long nails you’re gonna want to pour the powder on your fingernail. If I hadn’t have been a nail tech, I can’t imagine. Trying some thing like this as a beginner. I haven’t done nails for years, so I have never tried the dip powder process. I think because I have used so many other products. It was a little easier for me, but it was still not easy. You have to be very careful around your cuticles so that it will look right. The colors are not true to the picture. Just FYI. The colors are much lighter and brighter which was kind of a bummer because I really thought that pallet was beautiful. It comes with so many light colors but it was my first time purchasing, and now I know what I want. It does chip a bit after a week, but that might be because I haven’t gotten the process down. Good enough yet. Time will tell, but I am pretty happy with this product. ... show more
