Excellent Whelping Box for Large Breeds

My uncle uses this whelping box for his German Shepherds, and he has been very impressed with it. The 48 x 48 inch size gives a large mother dog plenty of room while still providing a secure area for the puppies. He especially likes the pig rails because they add an extra layer of protection for newborn puppies and help keep them from getting trapped underneath their mother. The adjustable entrance is another thoughtful feature since it can be changed as the puppies grow. The box itself feels sturdy once assembled, and the PVC panels make it much easier to clean than materials that can absorb moisture and odors. The included washable mat is also very convenient for keeping the area clean and comfortable. Assembly was straightforward, and having all of the necessary pieces included made setup much easier. My uncle also likes that the sides are high enough to keep the puppies safely contained while still allowing him to easily reach in and check on them. For someone raising puppies, especially larger breeds like German Shepherds, this has been a really practical setup. It provides plenty of room, feels secure, and is much easier to maintain than a makeshift whelping area. Five stars from us!

Large, Sturdy & Dogs Love it

It took a little while to put together. Certain parts of the instructions can be confusing, but to be fair that might have just been user error 🫣. Once everything is in it's place it looks great! Very sturdy. It takes up quite a bit of space to be sure to look over the dimensions carefully & measure your home to make sure it'll fit. The pups took to it right away! Cleaning is SO easy in this. The mat is machine washable (thank goodness!). Everything else can be easily wiped down. On cleaning days it's taken us maybe 30mins to get it spotless. If your looking for a whelping box, I most definitely recommend this one! Much more affordable compared to other options out there & quality is right up there with the "luxury" options.

Beautiful quality, easy to construct, ready to go!

I am extremely impressed with the quality of this whelping box. From the moment I assembled it, I could tell it was thoughtfully designed and built with durability in mind. The PVC panels are sturdy and stable, giving me confidence that they can safely support both the mother dog and her puppies without wobbling or shifting. One of my favorite features is the anti-crush pig rails. They add an extra level of protection for newborn puppies and show that safety was clearly a priority during the design process. The adjustable entrance is another excellent feature that grows with the puppies, making the box useful from birth through the early stages of development. Assembly was quick and straightforward, and everything needed was included in the box. The pieces fit together securely, creating a solid structure that feels much more durable than I expected. Not what was expected

We bought the largest size for our doodle, it’s much smaller and didn’t come with slats for the second ‘room’ to be made. The walls don’t line up so there’s a gap where the door would be which isn’t safe for puppies. I don’t recommend at all

Disappointed Plastic is cheaper material Measurements are off, we were not able to place the poles on all 4 sides because the front area would bow out and not snap into place.

Not great

Looks cute and will work for the short time I'll need it. Was a pain in the a** to put together. And you definitely cannot move it once it is together. It does not stay together. All the grooves keep slipping out of the tracks that are supposed to hold them. Contemplating just gluing it for now.

Perfect Setup for Future Puppies!

Now that we have the perfect whelping box, I guess the only thing we are missing is a pregnant dog—haha! Hopefully soon, because I cannot wait until we have some puppies around here. This is a really nice setup and feels much more substantial than I expected. The mama dog who will hopefully be using it is around 40 pounds, and the 48" × 48" size looks like it should give her plenty of room to stretch out comfortably while still leaving space for the puppies. I especially like the pig rails around the inside because they add an extra layer of protection for tiny pups along the edges of the box. The adjustable-height doorway is also practical because it should make it easier for Mom to get in and out while helping keep little puppies contained as they grow. The waterproof washable pad is another big plus because anyone who has dealt with puppies knows easy cleanup is going to matter—a lot! The 18-inch sides also feel high enough to create a secure space without making the box difficult to access. Overall, this looks like a thoughtfully designed, roomy, and practical whelping setup. We are very happy with it so far. Now we just need Mother Nature to do her part!
