I had planned to buy the merino version of this insole, but I was in a hurry and didn't pay sufficiently close attention to the info on the screen when I chose the black option after I saw my size was out of stock in the grey color. Although I was disappointed when I realized my mistake, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of cushioning the insoles provide. My aging and damaged feet need a lot of cushioning, and these provide more than most. They have a more springy feel than my other good insoles, which are more like firm pillows that absorb energy more passively. These seem to return some of the energy, and it's a little strange wearing them. I think they would be good for running, but I use them for weight training, so I haven't decided whether their characteristics are what I'm looking for. But they provide a thick layer of support in the forefoot, which is unusual for most insoles, and what I want. If they seem comfortable after some more trial time, I'll probably buy a few more.

I got these today and put them in my memory foam Skechers before an hour walk. They passed the test, giving me just a bit more padding and soft insole. Obviously, I like a good deal of padding. I got the idea to look for these from having pulled the wool insoles out of my Albirds to use in my athletic shoes.. They were helpful but the Tiestra has just a little more padding in the heel cup, and not so much they push my feet out. These do not have arch supports (as expected since they don't advertise as having them). I have some small gel arch supports that fit just in that area. It's a win all together...Just an idea for the company - making arch supports an option would be helpful.

I normally wear a size 11.5 in men's shoes, but had to get 11 as there are no half sizes. That's no problem though because they do run JUST A BIT big. Apart from that, the only reason I don't give this 5 stars is that they don't perfectly fit my flat feet. Still great comfort nonetheless. I just hope they are durable and last long!
